Role
This role is a new exciting initiative to support disabled people who face cross service barriers affecting their ability to live independent lives.
Are you passionate about helping people access the support, services and opportunities they need to live well and independently? The Independent Living Association is looking for a motivated, flexible and knowledgeable Community Navigator to work with individuals across rural Clackmannanshire, helping them overcome barriers, build confidence and connect with the right support at the right time.
About the role
Working predominantly in Clackmannanshire and rural areas of Forth Valley, the Community Navigator will provide person-centred support to individuals who need help accessing local services, community resources and statutory funded support. You will work closely with health, social care, voluntary sector and community partners, including our SDS Forth Valley service and Supporting in the Right Direction Project, to help people experience a more joined-up approach to independent living and wellbeing.
What you will do
You will:
- Provide one-to-one, person-centred support to individuals, helping them identify their needs, priorities and life outcomes.
- Offer information, guidance and practical support to help people access services such as housing, benefits, healthcare, mental health support, training and social groups.
- Support people to navigate complex systems and overcome barriers including digital exclusion, lack of confidence or lack of information.
Community engagement and partnership working
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local support networks, voluntary groups, statutory services and community organisations.
- Work collaboratively with partner organisations to provide coordinated, holistic support.
- Work closely with SDS Forth Valley to support individuals to understand and challenge barriers to social care and independent living.
- Support awareness raising through community events, meetings and outreach activity with the Supporting in the Right Direction team.
Advocacy, casework and professional practice
- Support individuals to advocate for themselves, make informed decisions and have their voices heard.
- Manage a caseload effectively, maintaining accurate and confidential records using agreed systems.
- Monitor progress, gather feedback and contribute to evaluation and reporting.
- Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns in line with local policies.
- Participate in supervision, training and continuous professional development.
About you
We are looking for someone who has:
- A full driving licence and access to a car are essential as you will be travelling throughout Clackmannanshire and the Forth Valley area
- Knowledge of social care legislation and the ability to interpret related legislation in practice.
- Experience working with individuals or communities in a support, guidance, advocacy or outreach role.
- •Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with a diverse range of people.
- An understanding of local services, social issues and the barriers affecting vulnerable people and their families.
- The ability to manage a caseload, prioritise effectively and work independently.
- A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusive practice.
- Good IT and administrative skills, including accurate record keeping.
It would also be helpful if you have:
- Community Brokerage Award
- Experience within the voluntary or community sector.
- Knowledge of health and social care systems.
- An understanding of trauma-informed or strengths-based approaches.
- Experience of constructively challenging barriers, inequalities or service gaps.

Heartland Cares is the new social enterprise now working in the Rannoch and Tummel and Dunkeld and Birnam areas. Our regulated Care at Home service (due to start in November) works alongside the strength of existing volunteer-led support services, ensuring a joined-up approach to meeting the care needs of people living in remote, rural areas. Our Board of Trustees is passionate about getting positive outcomes for the people who use our services. Braveheart is a forward-thinking health promotion charity dedicated to improving wellbeing through healthy lifestyles and physical activity. Braveheart has been providing community-based health services in Forth Valley for 30 years and is well established in the locality.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Co-ordinator to lead and develop our footcare initiative across the Forth Valley area. Braveheart’s Top Toes service is already operating in Falkirk District and your role will be to drive forward the growth of the social enterprise, while managing the high quality of the footcare service. Joining the Braveheart team at this exciting time in the organisation’s development offers the successful candidate the opportunity to make a tangible difference to the lives of hundreds of people in the Forth Valley communities. Key challenges of the role will include implementing a new online payment system, recruiting and developing volunteer teams and promoting the footcare service through partnership development and marketing activities.
Our footcare clinics are delivered by volunteers. The Co-ordinator role includes organising regular training including with the NHS podiatry team, mentoring and supporting volunteers, promoting good communication and holding regular volunteer team meetings.
The post is initially funded by Clackmannanshire and Stirling Health and Social Care Partnership for up to 2 years, however, the aim of the socially enterprising project is that it will become self-sustaining through the income raised by the service.
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about health promotion and community engagement with strong organisational and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with community health networks and knowledge of the local area will be an advantage. Children and Young People’s Support Worker- Campbeltown
- Full time or Part time
- £26,460 – £28,775
- On site: Based in Campbeltown or local area and providing outreach support in Oban, Mid Argyll, Kintyre and Islay areas.

ABWA provides information, emotional/practical support, refuge accommodation and accommodation advice to all women, their children and young people who are experiencing domestic abuse from their current or ex- partner.
The CYP Support Worker will provide confidential, trauma- informed, age and stage appropriate support and information for children and young people within the ABWA refuge, and service.
The CYP Team works closely with ABWA’s Team Leader and colleagues.
Salary
- Qualified: £28,775.25 + 8% pension (35 hours)
- Unqualified: £26, 460 + 8% pension (35 hours)
