About the Role

As a Recovery Worker, you will support individuals from initial assessment right through to aftercare and ongoing recovery support.

You’ll hold a caseload and work closely with individuals to develop personalised recovery action plans, review progress, identify barriers, celebrate achievements and connect people into wider support where needed.

A key part of this role is the ability to confidently plan and deliver structured group work sessions. We are looking for someone who can engage individuals within group settings, encourage participation and create a safe, supportive and recovery-focused environment.

Our programme combines one-to-one support with structured group delivery, helping individuals develop coping strategies, recovery skills, confidence and longer-term stability through evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.

You’ll build positive relationships with individuals and partner organisations to ensure people receive the wraparound support they need to move forward in recovery.

Essential Requirements

• Experience supporting individuals affected by problematic substance use

• Experience completing assessments, support planning and reviews

• Experience planning and delivering group-based interventions or recovery-focused sessions

• Confidence facilitating groups and engaging participants with varying support needs

• Knowledge of recovery approaches and psychosocial interventions

• Experience maintaining accurate case records and using IT systems

• Understanding of professional boundaries, confidentiality and safeguarding

• Ability to work collaboratively with statutory and third sector partners

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience delivering therapeutic or recovery-focused group work

• SVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent qualification in Health & Social Care or related field

• Knowledge of local recovery pathways and services

• Full driving licence

The Front of House Café Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the Recovery Café, ensuring a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for all attendees.

The role will oversee all front of house operations, including coordinating volunteers, supporting community members, liaising with partner organisations, and ensuring the smooth delivery of café sessions. The postholder will play an important role in creating a positive recovery-focused environment where individuals feel welcomed, supported and connected to local services.

The successful candidate will be organised, approachable and passionate about building relationships, supporting volunteers and promoting community wellbeing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Café Operations

• Coordinate the day-to-day running of the Recovery Café during opening hours.
• Ensure the café environment is prepared, welcoming, safe and accessible prior to each session.
• Oversee the smooth operation of front of house activities throughout the day.
• Support the opening and closing of the café and ensure the premises are maintained to a high standard.

Volunteer Support and Development

• Supervise and support volunteers working within the café.
• Lead daily team huddles and allocate volunteer responsibilities.
• Provide guidance, encouragement and practical support throughout each session.
• Assist with volunteer induction and ongoing development.
• Promote a positive, recovery-focused and inclusive atmosphere.

Community Engagement

• Welcome and engage positively with individuals attending the café.
• Build positive relationships with community members and visitors.
• Promote an environment that is respectful, inclusive and supportive of recovery.
• Encourage participation and help individuals access available support where appropriate.

Partnership and Team Working

• Act as the main point of contact for partner organisations delivering services within the café.
• Work collaboratively with the Chef/Kitchen Lead and wider café team.
• Attend daily team huddles and contribute to service planning.
• Support the overall aims and objectives of the Recovery Café.

Administration and Monitoring

• Complete daily cash handling procedures, including till reconciliation and receipt management.
• Record café attendance and monitoring information accurately.
• Complete monitoring returns required by funders.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with organisational procedures.

Governance and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all organisational policies and procedures.
• Promote safeguarding, health and safety, equality and confidentiality.
• Report accidents, incidents and concerns in accordance with organisational procedures.
• Participate in team meetings, supervision and training opportunities.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care, Community Development, Hospitality, Customer Service or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Full UK Driving Licence (desirable).

Experience

• Experience working in a community, hospitality or third sector environment.
• Experience coordinating volunteers or supporting teams.
• Experience delivering excellent customer service.
• Experience of cash handling and basic financial administration.
• Experience maintaining accurate records and monitoring information.

About the Role:

As a Relief Worker, you’ll work as part of a team in providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for the people who use our services. You’ll do this by providing the highest possible quality of housing management service to our supported people to ensure they are able to sustain their tenancy.

Our services throughout North & South Lanarkshire are looking for Relief Workers to cover a variety of shift patterns on weekdays and weekends. We provide support, advice and assistance to individuals regarding practical skills, physical health and wellbeing and emotional support. We also provide opportunities to explore personal interests, occupation of time and positive social networks.

Main Responsibilities:

The Relief Worker will:

• work as part of a team providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for homeless people.
• support, review, monitor and evaluate through our case management system, to achieve a positive person-centred outcome for the people we work with in line with organisational, statutory and legislative requirements.
• maintain and update all recording systems and documentation in line with relevant policies, procedures and practice guidelines, including the occupancy agreement, within required timeframes.
• provide, plan and facilitate key work meetings, key work sessions, meetings, reviews and other internal/external meetings in conjunction with the person’s support plan.
• provide general advocacy and advice to the people we support, including assistance to enable them to meet the conditions of their occupancy agreements.

• Ideally, possess 1 year of experience of working with vulnerable people and challenging behaviour which can be from personal, voluntary and/or professional experience.
• Demonstrated commitment and ability to undertake care practice in accordance with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) code of practice, National Care Standards, Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care and the Associations policies and procedures.
