Oak Tree Housing Association is looking for enthusiastic, committed individuals to join our voluntary Management Committee and help shape the future of housing and community services across Inverclyde.

Our Management Committee plays a vital role in setting the strategic direction Of the Association, ensuring good governance, and helping us deliver positive outcomes for the communities we serve.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences and skill sets. You do not need previous board committee experience to apply, as training and support will be provided. We are particularly interested in individuals who can bring skills or experience in areas such as:

• Business and strategic planning

• Sustainability and environmental management
• Community development and regeneration

WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?

Management Committee Members:

• Attend regular committee meetings
• Help shape the Association’s strategic direction.
• Monitor organisational performance
• Support good governance and effective decision-making
• Ensure the Association continues to deliver excellent services to tenants and customers
• Act in the best interests of the Association and the communities we serve

The role is entirely voluntary, although reasonable expenses incurred while carrying out committee duties can be reimbursed.

St Andrew’s Hospice (Lanarkshire) is a registered charity providing specialist care and support to people living with life-limiting illnesses in Lanarkshire. Our goal is to offer physical, psychological, social, and spiritual care to our patients and their loved ones in a calm, peaceful, purpose-built, and welcoming environment. Care is provided via our Inpatient Unit, Outpatient Department and Outreach Services in addition to Bereavement Services and Education for health and social care professionals.

St Andrew’s Hospice operates as a charity organisation. Patients are referred to our services by healthcare professionals operating within NHS Lanarkshire (NHSL). Our services are commissioned and partially funded by NHSL, and we work in partnership with them and other third-sector organisations to ensure patients and their loved ones receive the right care and support at the right time, in the right place.

St Andrew’s Hospice is governed by Board members of which there are both Directors and Trustees of the organisation. Hospice Trustees are volunteers and meetings of the Board take place up to four times a year. The Hospice Board seeks to be a balanced representation of the Lanarkshire community. Due to upcoming retirements, we are seeking new Trustees to join us in our work and deliver our strategy.

We are especially interested in recruiting Trustees with expertise in the following areas:

• Business Management
• Communications / IT / Digital
• Strategic Healthcare Professional

We would also be keen to hear from those who have other relevant skills and experience that they consider could benefit the Hospice.

You will have work and/or life experience that would bring valuable skills to the Hospice Board. You should be enthusiastic, able to work effectively within a team framework, scrutinise and interrogate reports, ask questions and weigh up issues carefully and in a measured manner. Most importantly, you will have a strong commitment to the ethos and values of St Andrew’s Hospice. Ideal applicants will have proven experience at Executive or Board level and a genuine interest in both the charity sector and the future direction of hospice care.

We are recruiting a Neighbourhood Officer to join our Mid Market Rent (MMR) Neighbourhood Team. This is your chance to deliver a high quality, customer-focused housing management service, supporting our MMR customers to enjoy safe, well-managed homes and communities.

You will join a team where you are trusted to manage a varied caseload, working closely with colleagues, partner agencies and customers to keep neighbourhoods safe and tenancies sustainable.

The Role

As a Neighbourhood Officer, you will:

• Provide a customer-focused housing management service, responding to enquiries and attending customer engagement events to understand needs and expectations.
• Manage, investigate and resolve housing management cases, including anti-social behaviour, rent arrears, hoarding and neighbour disputes, escalating to legal action where required.
• Act as an advocate for vulnerable and at-risk customers, raising welfare and safeguarding concerns and connecting people with the right support.
• Take a proactive approach to debt management and income recovery, providing benefits guidance and signposting customers to further support.
• Manage lettings and allocations for MMR and social housing properties, from advertising and viewings through to post-allocation visits and tenancy deposit administration.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds an HNC-level qualification in a relevant discipline, an equivalent Housing qualification, or equivalent experience, with at least two years in a similar customer focused role.
• Has strong digital skills and a genuine commitment to continuous professional development.
• Handles sensitive and emotive issues, and challenging behaviour, with compassion and professionalism.
• Communicates confidently with a wide range of customers, colleagues and partner agencies.
• Has a working knowledge of relevant housing legislation, Universal Credit and other benefits, and data protection requirements.
