The Eric Liddell Community is a thriving care charity and community hub based in the heart of Morningside. Every year, we welcome over 80,000 visitors through our doors, provide specialist support for people living with dementia and unpaid carers, host hundreds of community activities, and generate vital income through our café, room hire, office rentals and community facilities.

We're looking for an experienced and proactive Interim Community Hub Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our Community Hub while helping us prepare for the future.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining operational leadership with practical problem-solving and improvement. You'll oversee our front desk, café and caretaking teams, ensure our building remains safe and welcoming, and help us identify new ways to maximise the impact, sustainability and income-generating potential of our Hub.

About the role

Reporting to the CEO and working as part of the leadership team, you will:

• Lead the day-to-day operation of our busy Community Hub
• Manage front desk, café and caretaking functions
• Oversee health & safety, facilities management and compliance
• Support room hire, office rental and tenant relationships
• Drive operational improvements and strengthen systems and processes
• Help identify opportunities to increase income and improve the use of our building and spaces
• Lead and support a dedicated team of staff and volunteers
• Contribute to the future development and sustainability of The Eric Liddell Community

Role

As a Fringe Volunteer Coordinator, you will provide a key role in our festival activities, working with and supporting volunteers, liaising with performers and festival colleagues, and leading our on-site bucket collections.

Full training to succeed in the role will be provided and flexibility will be required. You’ll receive Waverley Care t-shirts and jacket to wear when working, and a Pleasance staff pass, which allows first-come first-served access to live shows which are not sold out.

Responsibilities include:

• Brief, support and supervise Waverley Care’s bucket shaking volunteers at each shift.

• Work with bucket shaking volunteers to actively collect donations from Fringe audiences.

• Motivate and inspire volunteers to grow our festival fundraising income.

• Engage performers to support our fundraising efforts through show announcements.

• Make and maintain good working relationships with Pleasance and Edinburgh University Students' Association staff and ensure that all collections are carried out in accordance with their requirements.

• Support Waverley Care’s Fringe Fundraising Coordinator with volunteer recruitment.

• Monitor stock levels at the festival and liaise with office-based staff to replenish materials.

• Ensure donations, materials and contactless donation devices are secure at all times.

• Follow Waverley Care’s and The Pleasance’s health and safety policies and procedures.

• Respect personal data and comply with Waverley Care’s data protection policies.

• Undertake any other duties, which may be reasonably required. These may be at other Fringe venues which Waverley Care has a working relationship with.

About You

You’ll be enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable. You will be confident in sharing facts about HIV, highlighting the important work of Waverley Care and explaining how the public’s donations can support this. You’ll have great organisational skills, and you’ll be keen to work as part of a busy and dedicated team. You will also have great communication skills, and you’ll be looking forward to building relationships with colleagues, volunteers, performers, venues and audience members.

You will have customer service, fundraising, volunteer management or charity experience. You may be interested in a career in the charity sector, volunteer management or festival organisation. Whatever your experience, you’ll be eager to learn new skills and information across fundraising and volunteer management.

The Role

OnFife is looking for an ambitious and experienced Sponsorship & Funding Manager to lead the development and delivery of our sponsorship and fundraising strategy.

This is a key strategic role, responsible for growing both restricted and unrestricted income across a diverse portfolio including trusts and foundations, corporate sponsorship, individual giving, crowdfunding and public appeals. About You

You will bring:

• Degree-level education (SCQF Level 9) or equivalent experience
• At least three years’ proven success in fundraising, ideally within the charity or cultural sector
• Strong experience of securing funding from trusts, foundations and businesses
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce persuasive, high-quality bids and proposals
• Strategic thinking skills and the ability to spot opportunities and innovate income streams
• Experience of relationship management with donors, partners and stakeholders
• Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
• A collaborative approach and the confidence to work with senior leaders, Board members and external partners
• A genuine interest in culture, creativity and community impact in Scotland

Key responsibilities

You will:

• Develop, lead and deliver a comprehensive Sponsorship & Fundraising Strategy aligned to OnFife’s strategic ambitions
• Identify, research and secure funding from trusts, foundations, corporates, statutory bodies and major donors
• Lead on writing compelling funding bids, sponsorship proposals and donor communications
• Manage and grow fundraising programmes including crowdfunding, Friends schemes, Adopt a Seat, appeals and legacy giving
• Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, sponsors, partners and stakeholders
• Work collaboratively across OnFife to identify funding priorities and develop strong, fundable projects
• Monitor income performance, manage budgets and targets, and report to senior management and the Board
• Ensure fundraising activity complies with best practice, legislation and data protection requirements
• Act as an advocate and ambassador for OnFife at external events and networks

Street Soccer is a charity using football to create lasting change in the lives of isolated and excluded adults and young people. We run 60 sessions a week of free, inclusive and judgement-free football. These sessions provide person-centred support to players facing a number of challenges including mental health, homelessness, long term unemployment, problem substance use, criminal justice and seeking asylum. At the heart of this initiative is the Leith Community Centre, a vibrant hub for creativity, support, and connection.

Role Purpose

The Street Soccer Women’s programme (previously Street45) provides a safe, supportive space where socially disadvantaged women and girls can be active, connect and build confidence while engaging in football related activity and personal development opportunities.

The Women’s Programme Co-Ordinator will be responsible for developing the Women’s Programme across Scotland in areas including Ayrshire, Glasgow, the Central Belt and Fife . Responsible for sourcing and managing suitable venues for sessions to take place. They will recruit and work with partners to ensure players get the right level of support across a variety of issues. They will grow the number of players attending sessions by promoting these across the community in a variety of ways.

An enthusiastic person, the Women’s Programme Co-Ordinator will be able to build relationships with a series of communities where sessions take place. They will also work with the Fundraising Team to establish local opportunities for sponsorship and other support.

The Women’s Programme Co-Ordinator will also be involved in our Team Scotland Women’s activity including the annual Homeless World Cup Tournament.
