STAND is a Fife charity led by people with lived experience of dementia. We believe that life doesn’t stop with a diagnosis — people can continue to grow, connect and enjoy new experiences. Nine trustees currently sit on STAND's Board of Trustees and, as a peer-led charity, three (including the Chairperson) live with dementia, three are/were carers and three have professional backgrounds.

We are currently seeking the following new Trustees to share with us their experience, talents, and passions:

• Trustee (ideally with experience in fundraising, but experience in campaigning, marketing, HR, creative pursuits or digital technology would also be beneficial).

Insight or personal experience of dementia or caring responsibilities would be an advantage. The STAND team is friendly and supportive, and you will be working with the charity's Development Lead and Administration Officer alongside trustees, volunteers, staff and members of the charity.

The Board of Trustees currently convenes every six weeks (usually from 2.00pm – 3.30pm), with the AGM in the autumn. Office Bearers and senior staff meetings usually take place quarterly. Most meetings are held in Kirkcaldy and travel expenses are reimbursed up to 30 miles from Kirkcaldy. Rarely, an additional Extraordinary General Meeting of the Board may take place.

Between meetings, it will be necessary to work remotely.

You will be part of Scotland’s leading health charity providing support to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions and Long Covid to live life to the full again. Our Community Healthcare Support Service provides access to a range

of supported self management and community recovery services to support people across Scotland to manage their health as well as possible and adjust to life after a diagnosis of a chest or heart condition or after a stroke. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the establishment of a new CHSS Stroke Nurse Service within NHS Borders whilst providing strategic, operational and clinical leadership to our established Stroke Nurse Service in NHS Lothian. The postholder will play a key role in shaping and developing services, leading Stroke Nurse teams, driving quality improvement, strengthening partnerships with NHS stakeholders and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred support for people affected by stroke and TIA. This role offers the opportunity to influence stroke services across two health board areas and contribute to the delivery of CHSS's No Life Half Lived #2 strategy.

The post is split across both areas, with approximately 2 days per week dedicated to Borders and 3 days per week to Lothian. The role is primarily home-based, with occasional travel across both health board areas and other locations as required to meet service and organisational needs.

About the Role

Join Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland's Stroke Nurse Service and make a meaningful difference to people affected by stroke and TIA. You will provide specialist assessment, advice and support to individuals and families, helping them manage their condition, maximise independence and achieve personal goals following stroke.

Working across NHS Borders, you will manage a community caseload, deliver person-centred support through a range of contact methods, collaborate with health and social care partners, and contribute to service development and quality improvement activities.

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with strong clinical, communication and organisational skills, a passion for improving outcomes for people affected by stroke, and the ability to work independently within a community setting.

Hybrid working role, primarily home-based, with travel required across NHS Borders for community visits, meetings and NHS premises. Occasional travel to other locations may also be required to meet service and organisational needs.

Fife Women’s Aid are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Children and Young People’s counsellors to join our Counselling service. The counsellor will provide direct counselling to children and young people who have experience of domestic abuse. This will mainly be delivered face-to-face, with occasional remote working to suit the needs of individual children and young people as required.

Experience / Qualifications

You will have 2 years’ experience in a counselling setting of working with children and young people who have experienced trauma. You will hold a Diploma in Counselling or above and be registered with COSCA, BACP, BAAT or equivalent. You will have excellent communication skills and enhanced knowledge of therapeutic interventions. You will be highly organised team player with skills and ability to work effectively with a range of multi-agency partners.
