Role
Are you experienced in supporting organisations to build infrastructure through undertaking administration tasks?
Are you passionate about raising voices of communities who are most affected by climate but who are least often heard? If so we’d love to hear from you!
We are particularly keen to hear from people who experience marginalisation and minoritisation or who are often excluded from decision-making processes. For example, people of colour; people from working-class backgrounds; people from LGBTQ and migrant communities; care-experienced young people and people with disabilities.
About us
Parents for Future Scotland became a charity 2 years ago as a result of grassroots parent organising and are now a small staff team with a growing network of activists. We are seeking to make climate action the norm among all parents in Scotland. We are in the midst of a big step change, increasing our influence and reach across the country, and we need you to help us in doing that. This post will be the first of its kind within the organisation.
Main tasks
- Supporting the set up of infrastructure for the organisation (a domain name, ensuring everyone can access key packages such as canva etc)
- Ensuring all self-employed staff have equipment that they need and putting processes into place to support the management of this
- Researching office spaces available for the team with a good understanding of what the team needs and booking the office space. Supporting the move to a new office space.
- Ensuring all self-employed staff are paid monthly and that finance systems are updated. Inducting staff in our finance system (Quick Books)
- Checking spend against projected spend across multiple funds regularly and updating the CEO/programme staff where required.
- Ensuring key documents are saved in relevant places for funding, publicity and governance.
- Researching and supporting a move to paid and permanent staff through working with the programme manager
- Undertaking the GDPR audit for the organisation and ensuring that we are compliant at all times.
- Checking on policies/procedures and ensuring that all are up-to-date
- Supporting with the sign-up of new members to PfFS, sending welcome messages and arranging times for programme staff to speak to them
- Being an active participant in our WhatsApp channel where we manage members to help share information and ensure that members are communicating appropriately
- Supporting and co-ordinating posts on socials so that teams are taking it in turns.
- Supporting volunteers to access resources and setting up infrastructure to ensure it’s easy to volunteer within the organisation. Take notes at team meetings and lead sessions / present at team meetings on key topics where information needs to be exchanged or the team requires training.
- Compile a monthly or quarterly newsletter by co-ordinating team contributions and creating something on canva.
- Support the CEO with any tasks needed

Experience
- At least five years experience in a similar role, possibly in a start-up or in an organisation which has gone through considerable change
- Experience with finance and an ability to report on finances (basic accountancy skills)
- Experience of working with a team to build their capacities to run efficiently
- Excellent IT skills
- Experience of researching and implementing new infrastructure/processes within an organisation
Ideal experience
- Experience in working with grassroots movements at local, national level
- Knowledge on climate issues and the need for systemic change
- Experience of working with people from different organisations, functions, and cultures
- Experience working with volunteers
- Experience of QuickBooks
Logistics
- The base for this role will be Glasgow. Initially the role will work from home but we plan to move to an office near the city centre, where the role would be based.
- The staff team are all in on a Tuesday, therefore some availability on Tuesdays is essential

Family Liaison Officer - Transport to Employment

FEL Scotland is looking for a Family Liaison Officer - Transport to Employment.
This project recognises that transport is often a barrier that prevents parents from working or training. As Family Liaison Officer, you will work directly with parents and carers who want to work or undergo training but are held back by transport problems. Working closely with our School Active Travel Hub Officers, employability services and family support partners, you will help provide practical, short term transport support where transport is the missing link to employment.
This role has three main aims. You will help parents get to work or training by solving transport problems; support wider child poverty reduction by improving family income and stability; and generate learning about what transport support works and how it can be embedded in future services.
We are looking for someone with strong people skills and the ability to work sensitively with families and understand the challenges they may face. Experience linked to employability, family support, transport access, schools or community hubs would be valuable, but we welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds.
You will be based mainly in schools and community settings across Clackmannanshire and Grangemouth, working closely with School Active Travel Hub Officers, employability services and family support partners. You may occasionally work evenings or weekends to support families.

Project Officer – Trees for Goals

FEL Scotland is looking for a Project Officer to support delivery of our Trees for Goals project.
This exciting project uses grassroots sport as a gateway into climate action, linking goals scored on the pitch with trees planted in local communities. Working with sports clubs, partners and residents across Forth Valley, the project aims to increase climate awareness, encourage community climate pledges and support tree planting in areas with low tree canopy cover.
You will work closely with FEL colleagues and partner organisations including The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) and Forth Climate Forest to engage clubs and communities, coordinate activities and help deliver local impact.
We are looking for someone with strong people skills who enjoys community engagement and partnership working. Experience in community projects, climate action, sport, volunteering or environmental work would be valuable, but we welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds.
The role is primarily office based in Stirling, with regular travel across Forth Valley and occasional evening or weekend work for community activities. Limited home working may be available by agreement.

Climate Hubs Scotland Network Facilitator

This is a Scotland-wide position and is facilitated by ECCAN only for the purposes of this job advert. The successful applicant will be hosted by their local Climate Hub.
Role will be hosted and supported by one of the climate action hubs, who will offer line management, IT, and other support. Arrangements will be shaped around the postholder. The postholder will work with all hubs and the Scottish Government.
Description of the Climate Hubs Scotland
The national network of 24 Climate Hubs across Scotland aims to provide communities with the capacity and confidence to shape and deliver locally relevant climate action that supports Scotland’s transition to a net-zero, climate-resilient future. Hubs operate as locally rooted, flexible, place-based structures that adapt their models and activities to local priorities and contexts. While the scale and structure of delivery may vary, all hubs share the overarching objectives of building local capability and motivation for climate action and supporting communities to develop and implement climate projects.
The climate hubs are run by local third sector organisations. They vary in size and scale, and employ different models of working, including partnership models.
Purpose and outcomes of the role:
To work with the climate action hubs and Scottish Government to develop and take forward collaborative actions across the national Hub network and to achieve the following strategic outcomes:
- The Climate Hub network is better able to share information, work together and support each other.
- The network is better connected, with each other, with key partners, and others to ensure that the knowledge of climate action hubs and the communities they serve is used effectively.
Oversight:
The Scottish Government and the lead hub will work with the successful candidate to develop a work plan. Priorities and the work plan will be shaped by the wider climate hub network.
The post holder will be required to provide updates to the Scottish Government and the network on a regular basis. The post holder will work closely with all hubs and in particular with staff supporting national priorities.
Senior Development Officer- IJB Lived Experience

The ALLIANCE is excited to be recruiting for a Senior Development Officer- IJB Lived Experience.
The Senior Development Officer will lead the day-to-day delivery of a project to support Integrated Joint Boards (IJBs) and lived experience representatives through the transition to full voting rights on IJBs. The role will involve leading activity to support current lived experience representatives, designing a national recruitment programme, establishing role expectations, recommending induction training and supporting delivery and providing ongoing support to representatives through this process. The role will ensure that the move to full voting rights is implemented meaningfully, consistently and with the right support structures in place across Scotland.
The successful candidate must have:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent through experience, including through lived experience
- Strong knowledge of current agendas relating to health and social care in Scotland
- Leadership and organisational skills
- Experience of delivering time bound projects
- Excellent networking, relationship building and information management skills
- Experience of partnership working and co-production
- Excellent communication skills including report writing, and confidence in facilitation events and workshops and delivering presentations
- Understanding of accessibility issues, particularly as they relate to involvement and communication
- Experience of carrying out social research and consultation
- An understanding of evaluation principles and approaches
- Good understanding of data protection
- Confident IT skills in word processing, email, internet, databases and presentations
