Kinross-shire Youth Enterprise (KYTHE), a dynamic Christian youthwork a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering young people in Kinross-shire to reach their full potential. The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and spiritually mature Christian leader to develop and pioneer faith-based youth work across Kinross-shire.

Working as part of the leadership team, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Youth Work, Kinross-shire Parish Church and other local congregations to maintain and grow meaningful opportunities for young people to explore the Christian faith.

You will:

• Lead and develop weekly and annual faith-based youth initiatives
• Create and adapt engaging programmes that support young people at different stages of their faith journey
• Further intergenerational worship opportunities in partnership with local churches
• Build trusted relationships with young people through open-access youth work
• Provide individual spiritual support and mentoring to young people
• Strengthen partnerships between KYTHE and local congregations
• Contribute to strategic planning and organisational development
• Model and uphold KYTHE’s Christian values through spiritual leadership and active participation in team prayer and reflection
• Monitor progress, track outcomes and report to Trustees and church partners
• Represent KYTHE confidently with stakeholders, churches and community partners

This is a varied and relational role combining youth work delivery, spiritual leadership, partnership development and strategic contribution — offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people and the wider Christian community in Kinross-shire.

What KYTHE Needs From You

The ideal candidate will hold a recognised qualification in Christian Ministry with an emphasis on youth work and bring substantial experience of working with young people. You will be confident discussing and exploring the Christian faith with young people, including those with little prior church experience.

Collaborative and relational in your approach, you will be able to work effectively with churches of different denominations while building trust with young people from diverse backgrounds.

You will demonstrate spiritual maturity, personal integrity and a clear commitment to Christian faith and leadership.

A creative and reflective practitioner, you will be comfortable contributing to team prayer, engaging in your own spiritual development, and supporting colleagues in theirs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to manage priorities, contribute to planning, use IT systems effectively, and support monitoring and reporting requirements.

Experience of youth leadership, chaplaincy engagement within schools, programme development, and partnership working within a church context would be advantageous.

About Regen:FX Youth Trust

Regen:FX Youth Trust is a well-established third sector youth organisation, working across South Lanarkshire since 2007. We are firmly embedded in our communities and committed inclusion and recovery-focused practice.

We work alongside young people, families and communities to create spaces and services to support young people to succeed in life with a focus on reducing harm and challenging stigma.

Regen:FX delivers a wide portfolio of youth work services across South Lanarkshire, including mental health services, youth projects and diversionary activities such as extreme sports programmes. This ensures young people have access to a broad range of support, opportunities and pathways.

The Trust also delivers The GIVIT Youth Recovery Service for young people affected by their own alcohol and substance use, alongside GIVIT some STREET, the early intervention element of the service supporting young people at risk.

We have recently been awarded a new contract with the South Lanarkshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership (SLADP) to deliver Workforce Development Training, now known as C2K Training. This programme supports practitioners across statutory and third sector services to feel confident, informed and supported when working with people affected by alcohol and substance use.

Job Overview

Regen:FX Youth Trust is recruiting a Youth Navigator to join The GIVIT Youth Recovery Service. This role is central to delivering intensive, relationship-based support to young people aged 13–25 affected by alcohol and substance use.

You will build strong, trusting relationships, manage a caseload and support young people to overcome barriers and achieve meaningful outcomes in their recovery journey.

Working pattern: 14 hours per week, flexible. In-person or hybrid, minimum requirement to be present 1 day/month in Inverness (NB travel costs for in-person days are not covered). The existing staff team work predominantly in-person however we recognise that this Finance Officer role is very well suited to hybrid working. We actively encourage applicants who may be returning to work after a career break, combining the role with caring responsibilities or considering semi-retirement. NB we have carefully scoped the demands of this role and are confident that 14 hours per week is sufficient for the size & complexity of our organisation.

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to work in a small organisation where you can have real impact and real job satisfaction in our friendly small charity. You will see your financial data translating directly into high quality decision making. You'll provide financial advice to the Chief Officer and work closely with our Board of Trustees. We have a very supportive Finance Subcommittee, which currently includes two highly experienced Chartered Accountants.

Primary Purpose of the Role:

The overall purpose of the role is to maintain financial transparency and strong financial controls across the organisation. There will be a focus on managing grants and donations, supplier payments, and internal financial processes. We have a mixed income model with grants, donations and earned income. In 2023 we won ‘One to Watch’ at the Social Enterprise Scotland Awards. As we approach our 5th birthday, your role will be to help us achieve even greater sustainability and impact.

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage all restricted funds paid to our charity, ensuring the grant process runs smoothly from application and receipt all the way through to end of grant reporting.
• Use accounting platform to maintain organised and auditable financial records (we’re currently on Quickbooks but open to your suggestions to move to other systems)
• For our charitable trading income, help us to analyse how our business is performing.
• Work with the Chief Officer to prepare and continuously update 1-year up to 3-year forecasts and budgets (currently on MS Excel but open to your suggestions to move to other systems)
• Preparation and submission of Gift Aid claims / reports
• Prepare quarterly management accounts to our Board of Trustees. NB assistance will be given by the Finance Subcommittee.
• Provide accurate data for our annual Independent Examination and published Annual Accounts, including reporting to OSCR and Companies House. NB again, assistance will be given by the Finance Subcommittee and you will be working with our Independent Examiners who are a well-established firm of charity specialists.

Special features of the role:

Although this role does not involve routine contact with children, working for our youth charity is classed as protected work under the terms of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. This position is therefore subject to our rigorous safer recruitment policy. This will include PVG checks, detailed background checks and follow-ups on all references.
