Role
Are you a motivated fundraiser who wants to help make a difference to young people across Scotland?
Youth Scotland is looking for a Fundraiser to join our team and help strengthen our fundraising activity, supporting community-based youth work across Scotland.
Working as part of Youth Scotland’s Impact and Business Development team, the postholder will support the development of funding applications, coordinate grant reporting, research new funding opportunities and contribute to partnership funding bids. The role will focus particularly on funding from charitable trusts and foundations,
Scottish Government programmes and other public bodies, while also supporting wider partnership and business development opportunities.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, curious and motivated by social impact, and who enjoys bringing together information, evidence and ideas to help secure funding that supports young people and youth organisations.
Youth Scotland is the national charity for community-based youth work, supporting a national network of 600+ youth organisations and over 2,400 youth groups. Together they provide opportunities for more than 110,000 young people, supported by 12,000 youth workers and volunteers in communities across Scotland.
Alongside fundraising activity, the role will also contribute to initiatives that support the wider youth work sector, including helping organise Meet the Funder events and supporting Youth Scotland’s involvement in the National Impact Network.

Youth Scotland prides itself on being a flexible employer. Office space is available at our HQ in Edinburgh but, depending on personal circumstances, home-based or hybrid working is available for this role. You will be required in Edinburgh for occasional in person planning or strategy days.

Edinburgh Council and R2 members are coming together to recruit a co-ordinator for a new initiative, Team Around the Community (TAC), in north Edinburgh. Team Around the Community (TAC) aims to create a place-based, partnership approach to respond at the earliest stage of need and prevent escalation for children and their families. TAC works together with the council, health, justice and voluntary sector services, to notice and listen to what people need and respond collaboratively. This is built on trust in professional judgement and expertise, to empower families and build capacity. In north Edinburgh, TAC will initially focus on 3 primary schools and one early years centre in and around the Pilton area.
The role will involve working closely with the R2 network members and Council staff to develop this approach in north Edinburgh. We expect the co-ordinator to map support available to families in the described area and based on what is found develop a plan for implementation. The focus of this will, initially, be about bringing relevant practitioners together to support relational practice.
This role is funded by Edinburgh Council and will be hosted by MYDG (Muirhouse Youth Development Group) for one year initially.

The Role
This is a rare opportunity to lead a much-loved and highly respected organisation through a period of meaningful change. As CEO, you will be the driving force behind FetLor’s strategic direction, its partnerships and the continued development of its talented team.
You will be accountable for three core areas: leading the FetLor team, building and sustaining partnerships that strengthen the support available to young people, and creating a strategic plan that ensures the long-term sustainability of the organisation.
This is a hands-on, visible leadership role that calls for someone who is as comfortable building relationships with funders and partners as they are supporting and inspiring the people around them.
About You
You will bring proven leadership experience and a genuine passion for improving the lives of young people. You will know how to build and sustain effective partnerships, manage competing financial demands and lead an organisation through change with confidence and care.
Experience in the third sector is helpful but not essential — what matters most is your values, your vision and your ability to bring people with you.
You will also bring, or be willing to develop, experience in fundraising, as securing sustainable income will be a key part of this role.

We are delighted to announce that the Board of YouthLink Scotland is recruiting a new independent Chair to succeed Angela Leitch CBE, who stepped down in November 2025 after three years in post. Find out more and nominate a suitable candidate by 1st March.
At our AGM on 26th November 2025, Bill Stevenson was appointed as Interim Chairperson replacing Angela and we are thankful that he has taken on this extra responsibility on the board during this period of recruitment.
A sub-group of the Board has met to review the recruitment process for a new Chair, in line with our Memorandum and Articles of Association. We are now seeking your support to nominate an independent Chair. This person will be someone not currently employed within the youth work sector, but who brings the skills, experience and strategic fit needed to lead the organisation into its next chapter.
This is an important appointment for YouthLink Scotland and our members, as we continue our role as the national intermediary for youth work. We will also be seeking to co-opt one or two additional Board members during this period, and it is therefore vital that we attract people with a strong track record, high standing, an appropriate public profile, and a genuine commitment to our mission.
As a national charity this role is not remunerated, but expenses incurred in supporting the role will be covered.

We are currently seeking to enhance our Board of Directors through the recruitment of suitable volunteers. A commitment to young people and youth work is essential and experience in GDPR, management of voluntary organisations or strategic development would be advantageous.
The Board of Directors meet bimonthly at our main office in Dumbryden Drive. Meetings are in the evening but the dates of meetings are agreed by Board Members. There is no remuneration for Board Members, however, all reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
