Everyone at the Trust plays a vital role in ensuring our vision and goals are achieved. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated candidate to join our team as a Finance Assistant.
The Role:
As a member of our Finance department, you will:
- Provide organisation-wide support by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
- Champion effective internal financial controls throughout the organisation.
- Process purchase and sales invoices efficiently and accurately.
- Support the Finance Manager in preparation of month-end, year-end accounts, as well as routine ad hoc financial tasks.
- Manage payment runs and maintain database of all creditors.
- Provide guidance, training and support to staff across the organisation on financial procedures and systems.
The candidate will ideally...:
- Have at least one year of relevant accounting experience.
- Hold an HNC/HND (or higher) in relevant subjects.
- Demonstrate ability to work autonomously and independently when required, taking ownership of tasks and prioritising effectively.
- Have strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes.
- Show excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide guidance and support to staff across the organisation.
- Possess ability to think proactively and have good problem-solving skills, with a collaborative approach to working within the finance team.
- Bring a positive attitude toward the objectives and values of The Scottish Wildlife Trust.

About The Cats Whiskers:
The Cats Whiskers was formed in 2018 by a group of dedicated local volunteers, who saw a need in our local community for the care and re-homing of cats. Initially, these efforts were all carried out with the support of incredible foster carer volunteers. We are now thrilled to operate our re-homing centre in Alloa.
We also have a charity shop in Alva, opened in 2018, which generates income for our core purpose of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cats.
Purpose of the job:
Since welcoming the first cat into our shelter in October 2022, our activities have grown to meet
need. In 2023, we rehomed 150 cats. In 2024, this increased to 179. We have also had an increase
in foster care, launched a pet food bank, and become a distribution partner for The Blue Cross. We
are seeking to onboard this role, our first paid staff member, to ensure the smooth day to day
running of our Rehoming Centre on Broad Street. To take on this role, we are looking for someone
who shares our passion for cat welfare, and wants to provide a quality, community service,
supporting our incredible volunteer team, working with, and furthering our local partnerships, and
ensuring the best possible care for our cats.
Main Responsibilities:
As the Volunteer and Centre Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the Centre, focusing on the welfare of all cats in our care, and managing our volunteer programme. You will also ensure that all administrative and maintenance procedures are completed to a high standard.
We are looking for someone who is positive, driven and has the ability to thrive under pressure. You will support the board of trustees to continue to develop our Centre and services to meet local need. You will be someone who has:
- Experience and passion for cat care
- Great communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Current (clean) driving license
- Strong organisational, administration and analytical skills
- Experience of working within local communities; creating and nurturing partnerships
- Awareness of health and safety legislation
- Willingness to learn

Assessment and Guidance Team Assistant

The SPSO is the final stage for complaints about organisations providing public services in Scotland. We investigate complaints across a wide range of sectors including councils, the NHS, housing associations, most water and sewerage providers, the Scottish Government and its agencies and departments, colleges and universities, prisons, and most Scottish public bodies.
Our Assessment and Guidance Team raise awareness, knowledge and understanding of our organisation with members of the public and the providers of public services. The Assessment and Guidance Team Assistant plays a pivotal role as the first point of contact to the SPSO and our complaints process. This involves handling incoming enquiry calls, providing relevant guidance and advice on how to make a complaint and information on the role of the SPSO. Strong communication, administrative skills and an attention to detail are essential as the this role takes lead responsibility in setting up new complaints on SPSO’s complaint handling system.
To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of two years’ experience of working in a frontline, customer-facing role, ideally with complaints handling. You will have good knowledge and experience of a customer services environment, ideally within a public service organisation under the Ombudsman’s jurisdiction. Strong administrative skills, attention to detail and experience of a range of IT applications is essential.
Administrator and Communications Worker - Glasgow

This role will involve carrying out a range of administrative tasks for our UpStream youth counselling team in Glasgow. Tasks include responding to enquiries from members of the public and participants, managing appointments and referrals, supporting the team with publicity and communications, and helping gather and organise data for monitoring and evaluation.
We are looking for candidates with experience in administration who are organised and confident using systems and technology. The role requires someone who communicates warmly and confidently with people from a wide range of backgrounds, helping to create a welcoming and supportive first point of contact for the service. The role will also involve providing flexible administrative support and occasionally assisting with project activities.

Anne Hope House is a therapeutic centre for women with multiple complex needs. Our holistic programs support them in their efforts to reintegrate into longer term accommodation and community.
This post is restricted to female applicants in order to reduce barriers of access for the all-female residents.
We are looking for a Project Worker, who will work as part of a team seeking to meet the practical, emotional and spiritual needs of women with multiple complex needs. As part of a team you will ensure the smooth daily running of the therapeutic centre and help to create a safe supportive caring and empowering environment for service users.
Your main tasks include leading group work and supporting residents on a one to one basis. You will also provide appropriate emotional and practical support to service users assisting in budgeting, debt management, addiction support, household routines, arranging specific specialist help and liaising with other external agencies.
Experience of working with vulnerable and homeless people, experience of working within a team and the ability to deal appropriately with challenging behaviour are essential for the role.
SVQ3 in Social Care, Promoting Independence or equivalent as listed by SSSC as appropriate for a Housing Support Worker, or willingness to work towards this is essential.
