Working within The Whiteinch Centre (TWC), the Community Projects Worker will play a key role in the day‑to‑day delivery of community activities, food provision, and group programmes.

The post holder will be actively involved in daily operational activity and will help identify gaps in local provision, engage with community members, and support volunteers to carry out their roles effectively.

The successful candidate will ensure that TWC offers a welcoming, inclusive and vibrant environment where local people can access support, participate in activities, and build connections.

We have positioned ourselves as the leading HIV charity in Scotland and our aim is to effectively influence the policy and service landscape to ensure that Scotland reaches zero HIV transmission by 2030. We are achieving this through raising awareness of HIV and undertaking projects to meet different workforces and communities education needs.

HIV Informed is a national education resource for Scotland’s health and social care workforce, launched by Waverley Care in December 2025.

It is a free online learning hub designed to:

• Challenge outdated knowledge and misconceptions about HIV

• Provide accurate, up-to-date information on HIV today

• Reduce stigma and discrimination

• Support professionals to deliver inclusive, respectful, stigma‑free care

The learning hub includes structured learning modules, knowledge quizzes to support learning and reflection, engaging videos and lived experience content and downloadable learning resources for use in practice and training.

HIV Informed was developed by Waverley Care in partnership with NHS Scotland and people living with HIV and is funded by the Scottish Government.

This post will work to actively promote and embed HIV Informed within health and social care settings across Scotland. The role will achieve this through delivering short awareness sessions and developing existing resources for frontline staff.

This role would collaborate with health and social care management teams and learning and development teams to support the implementation of HIV informed in workforce development plans. Furthermore, the postholder will attend national conferences, network meetings and stakeholder events.

About You

We welcome applications from people with lived experience of HIV, as well as those with professional experience in health, social care, or community engagement. We are looking for someone with:

• A demonstrable interest in, and passion for, improving the lives of people affected by blood-borne viruses (BBVs), in particular people disproportionately affected by HIV

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with a range of stakeholders

• Experience in project management and leading in an area of work

• Experience in delivering training, stakeholder relationship development, and engagement

• Experience of working in health and social care learning and development settings

Project Manager – Transforming access to Higher Education for single parents in Scotland

Overview:

One Parent Families Scotland (OPFS) is the national charity for single parent families and this programme is about changing what is possible.

All roles at OPFS contribute to our mission of working with and for single parent families, providing support that enables them to achieve their potential and help create lasting solutions to the poverty and barriers facing many single parents and their children.

Main duties:

Over three years (April 2026 – 30 June 2029), OPFS will lead a long-term, systems change initiative to transform how single parents access, experience and succeed in Higher Education in Scotland. Researching this issue with The Robertson Trust evidences structural barriers rooted in poverty, childcare gaps and inflexible institutional systems.

This initiative will drive change through policy advocacy; coalition-building and participatory redesign of Higher Education pathways, ensuring they reflect the realities of single parents’ lives. By tackling entrenched inequalities, the project seeks to open new opportunities for single parents, enabling them to move beyond immediate survival, aspire to new futures and fulfil their goals through meaningful access to education.

Role and key responsibilities

OPFS is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of this innovative programme. You will serve as the single point of contact for institutional partners and funders.

Since 2021, Loco Home Retrofit CIC has earned a respected position as an independent retrofit adviser and as an intermediary helping to scale Scotland’s retrofit sector.

Our purpose is to accelerate the transition away from fossil fuel heating in Greater Glasgow. We do this by providing services to households wishing to make their homes more comfortable, less expensive to heat, greener and more resilient to climate change. As a non-profit cooperative owned and governed by over 300 households our approach promotes consumer protection and community wealth building.

Our innovation programme is centred heat pump performance, solutions for tenements and novel methods of community engagement.

Following recent commercial success we are looking for a new Technical Manager to head up our homeowner support services and relationships with retrofit and renewables contractors.

THE ROLE

This is an opportunity to take a leading role in an innovative climate action social enterprise.

The Technical Manager will report to the Managing Director and will be responsible for leading the delivery and ongoing evolution of our retrofit support services for households.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver the service: carry out surveys and provide retrofit advice.
• Oversee service delivery by other team members ensuring standards are maintained in terms of customer service, technical robustness, health & safety and privacy.
• Lead service improvement for greater technical robustness and productivity.
• Develop and maintain commercial relationships with retrofit contractors

Skills And Experience

Required

• Demonstrated success in delivering projects in housing retrofit / building services/ construction.
• Practical expertise in one of these fields, as well as a strong desire to learn about the other:
• retrofit fabric and improvements, including risk management, or,
• heating system design, especially heat pumps.
• Proactive, entrepreneurial attitude
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills. At ease with varied audiences.
• Confident with business software including Google Workspace/ MS Office.
• Competent user of Google Sheets/ MS Excel
• Driving licence

Desirable

• Trained Domestic Energy Assessor and Retrofit Assessor
• Heating system design qualifications such as Heat Geek Awakening/ Mastery, or LCL Domestic Heating and Hot Water System Design in Dwellings
• Fabric retrofit qualifications such as AECB Carbonlite Retrofit, Retrofit Coordinator, Passive House Consultant/ Designer/ Tradesperson.
• Experience in managing health and safety policies and procedures
• Experience in implementing data privacy policies and compliance with GDPR
• Line management experience

Location

• You should be based within a commutable distance of our office in central Glasgow.
• There will be a mixture of office working, site surveys and flexibility to work from home.
• We serve households and communities across central Scotland, focussed on Greater Glasgow.

Schedule

• 8 to 4 or 9 to 5, Monday to Friday.
• This role involves limited community engagement activity in evenings and at weekends, managed with Time Off in Lieu.
