The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Administrative Assistant to support our day-to-day operations. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to the values of equality and social justice.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a strategic organisation that partners with communities, collegial organisations, and government to address structural inequalities in Scotland.

You will report directly to the Executive Director and work as part of a collaborative team including the Senior IT & Information Officer and Race Equality, Training and Human Rights Officers.

You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of administrative and financial processes, supporting project delivery, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and grant providers.

Additional Information

• This is a part-time role (14 hours per week)
• Typical working pattern is two days per week, with flexibility agreed with the Executive Director
• Fixed-term contract until 31 March 2027 (with potential extension subject to funding)

Are you an experienced leader with a passion for improving outcomes for Scotland’s youngest children and their families? Early Years Scotland is seeking a dynamic and committed Service Manager to lead and grow our early intervention and prevention services, champion high quality practice, and contribute to sector wide professional learning.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will provide leadership to staff delivering community based early years and family support programmes, ensuring safe, trauma responsive and high quality practice. You will manage performance, risk and compliance, oversee budgets, and support strategic planning.

A key part of the role will include designing, delivering and quality assuring professional learning for EYS members, partners (including ELC settings) and internal teams. You will use digital platforms to create, host and evaluate engaging learning content aligned with national frameworks.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead, coach and develop staff teams, providing professional supervision and supporting a culture of reflective practice
• Design and deliver high-quality professional learning, facilitation and CPD to a range of audiences including practitioners, leaders and partner organisations
• Manage projects and services, ensuring risk, compliance and safe delivery for children and families
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of programmes using data and evidence
• Build and maintain effective relationships with partner agencies, local authorities and national and regulatory bodies

• Provide written reports and represent the organisation locally and nationally

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience of line managing, coaching and developing staff teams
• Experience managing projects and services, including risk and compliance
• Strong track record of working collaboratively with partner agencies
• Experience supporting families experiencing adversity, including trauma-informed approaches
• Experience monitoring and evaluating programme impact using data and evidence
• Up to date knowledge of ELC policy, legislation and frameworks (e.g. SSSC Codes, The Promise, Realising the Ambition, GIRFEC, National Standard for Funded Providers)
• Knowledge of child development and how children learn

What does the role involve?

We are keen to find an HR Operations Manager with breadth and depth of HR experience who can take forward includem’s mission and principles.

With an awareness of the complexity of the third sector and the HR challenges we face, you will bring a solutions-focussed, collaborative approach to the role.

This is a varied and hands-on position. Through your business partnering skills, you will provide advice and coaching to line managers; and lead effective employee relations, efficient HR Admin support, and change projects, including HR Systems development.

You will be responsible for implementing new approaches and methods of delivery to recruitment, KPI reporting and case management, focusing on meeting the needs of includem.

An integral part of the Senior Management Team, you will lead on development of the HR Strategy, will be excited to take the lead on change-management tasks and be able to demonstrate that such challenges will not phase you.

You will work within a small team with direct line management responsibility for an HR Adviser and HR Assistant, and will report to the Director of Services and Development.

Essential Criteria

• CIPD membership or equivalent substantial HR experience as Snr HR Advisor/HR Business Partner .
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of Employment Law.
• Proven skills in influencing, communication and working collaboratively with internal and external colleagues, building professional networks to enhance organisational profile.
• Able to evidence personal drive, innovation, confidence, and commitment to engage others, especially in change management initiatives.
• Able to work independently and ensure the achievement of agreed departmental objectives.
• Resilient with flexibility and adaptability and ability to self-manage and work on own initiative.
• Understands the need to maximise people resources efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of people who use includem services and their families/carers.
• Experienced in dealing with complex employee relations cases e.g. TUPE.
• Interest and proven ability in report writing, policy and procedure reviews and summarising detailed information.
• Committed to continuous professional development.

Desirable Criteria

• Knowledge of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and Disclosure Scotland (PVGs, Disclosures).
• Experience of working in the social care/third sector

Legal Caseworker – Scottish Refugee and Migrant Centre (SRMC) and Scottish Anti-Trafficking & Exploitation Centre (SATEC)

Permanent or 6 Months Fixed Term

Thank you for your interest in applying to become a Legal Caseworker for Scottish Refugee and Migrant Centre (SRMC) and Scottish Anti-Trafficking & Exploitation Centre (SATEC), which is a specialist legal centre run by JustRight Scotland.

SRMC provide legal advice and representation to women, children and other migrants who are struggling to access their rights because of their refugee, asylum seeker or migrant legal status. We use our casework experience and expertise to engage in policy and influencing work and are stakeholders on Scottish Government working groups – often invited to contribute to policy evidence and to draft guidance in areas that impact our client group.

SATEC provides legal advice and representation to child and adult survivors of trafficking and exploitation across Scotland, as well as serving as a hub for outreach, policy, training and research. It is the only specialist legal project in Scotland that provides direct legal advice and representation to child and adult survivors of trafficking and exploitation in Scotland regardless of nationality, gender, type of exploitation and geographical location.

Contract: Permanent Full-Time or 6 Month Fixed-Term

Salary: £28,950 to £31,890 [pro-rata]

Appointments are ordinarily made at the minimum salary point. Candidates who achieve exceptional scores at shortlisting and interview may be appointed at a higher point. Following appointment, annual progression will take place in line with the charity’s policy.

As Legal Caseworker, you will assist the SATEC and SRMC solicitors to provide trauma informed legal information, advice and representation to refugees, migrants, and victim-survivors of trafficking and exploitation, throughout Scotland and to input into policy, training and research work linked to the legal work of the Centres.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the work of our innovative legal centres and develop your knowledge and experience of human rights law and practice. Please note, this role has very limited direct client work. If successful, you will work under the supervision of the SRMC Senior Associate Solicitor.
