Crossroads was founded in 1968, with the declaration that everyone should have the right to ‘live gloriously’. This meant two things: tackling whatever in society gets in the way of a fulfilling life, and nurturing and strengthening people’s confidence and resilience. Based at the Barn in Gorbals, we work with young people, families, and individuals, and work on issues of disability, mental health, migration, housing conditions and much more. Wherever possible we work to bring people together to share experiences, decide together and act together.

Our Board of Trustees is rooted in the community, and elected by members of the Association. These local roots have been essential to the survival of the organisation for over 50 years, against a background that has not always been friendly towards local action or challenges to authority. The survival has also depended on the essential advice and support of legal, financial and organisational talents both within the organisation and from supporters, so that we can demonstrate our integrity and responsibility.

We are looking to increase the strength and breadth of memebrship of our Board of Trustees / Directors and are keen to bring new members on Board. We would particularly welcome interest from younger people, minorities, and those with professional and life experiences we can draw on.

We’re seeking a creative and passionate person to join our Community Learning & Development team at Space to lead on our Changemakers project.

Changemakers is an exciting new food education project working with young people aged 16-24 who have barriers to employment and may have complex needs.

The Food & Life Skills Project Worker will support groups of up to 12 young people to build self-esteem and increase their independence via a programme of well-designed group-based sessions that use food education to teach life skills such as budgeting, cooking, nutrition, handling finances, numeracy, literacy and communication.

The Changemakers sessions will run on Wednesday afternoons 12.30-3pm from The Broomhouse Hub.

We currently have funding for the project to run from April – October 2026. During this period you would run two x 10 week programmes with time for recruitment and promotion before each programme.

Ideally all working hours will be competed on a Wednesday, however there is a degree of flexibility around working hours out with the times the sessions are to be delivered.

Key tasks in the job:

• Design and deliver a series of 10 group-based sessions that support people to develop confidence and life skills using food education as a driver
• Create detailed session plans for each session outlining activities, equipment, ingredients and timing
• Promote the Changemakers programme across networks and partner organisations such as local schools, colleges, community groups and other voluntary organisations to recruit cohorts of suitable candidates
• Conduct initial meetings with potential learners to assess their suitability for the project and their motivations and aims
• Carry out risk assessments and create a safe but nurturing environment for learners to thrive
• Complete all administration tasks relating to the project including collating learner registration information, updating database with detailed progress reports, recording attendance, collating data for funder reporting
• Provide 1:1 support to learners to review individual progress and address any barriers
• Engage with external partners/suppliers/trainers to provide relevant accredited training courses or specialist topics
• Recruit, train and support volunteers for the programme
• Manage the project budget

About the role:

We’re looking for an experienced People Advisor to support the Green Skills John Muir Way traineeship programme. The programme is a 3-year initiative, with up to 24 paid trainees per year engaging in practical biodiversity tasks and projects along the route. The programme aims to bridge the skills gap and workforce challenges, increase connectivity and break down the disconnect with nature, working in partnership with City of Edinburgh Council, Falkirk Council, Scottish Canals and East Dunbartonshire Council, and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The Green Skills initiative is designed for 16 – 24-year-olds facing barriers to employment. The 10-month traineeships involve a combination of practical work experience, and accredited training. This role is a hand on, people centred opportunity where your expertise will directly support young people to succeed. As a People Advisor, you’ll deliver a high quality, responsive HR advisory service to the Green Skills team. You’ll manage a varied caseload of employee relations matters including absence, wellbeing, performance, disciplinaries, and grievances, ensuring fair, lawful, and timely outcomes. A strong focus of the role is supporting leaders to confidently apply people processes, particularly around absence management and early intervention.

You’ll also play a central role in the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding of the trainees, ensuring processes are inclusive, well-coordinated, and aligned with safer recruitment principles. From shortlisting and interviews to pre-employment checks, contracts, and inductions, you’ll help create a smooth and positive journey for new starter trainees.

In addition, you will oversee compliance processes, including criminal record checks for trainees. You’ll manage the full process, from collating ID and checking applications to updating electronic records, monitoring due dates, and escalating issues where necessary. You will also maintain accurate HR records, track trainee absence and leave in the HR system, and ensure information flows efficiently for payroll processing.

About You

You’re an experienced HR professional with a strong grounding in employee relations and recruitment. You’re confident applying employment law in practical situations and enjoy coaching leaders to build their people management capability. Organised, adaptable, and detail oriented, you can manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards.

You’ll bring:

• Proven HR advisory experience across employee relations and recruitment
• CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent HR qualification)
• Experience interpreting employment law and HR best practice
• Strong organisational and data management skills
• The ability to analyse trends and present meaningful people insights
• A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to confidentiality

Inspiring Scotland is seeking a passionate and proactive Communications and Impact Officer to join our Intandem team. Intandem mentoring supports children and young people experiencing the care system, whether they’re living at home with parents, in kinship care with wider family or friends, or on the edge of care.

Established in 2016, Intandem is managed by Inspiring Scotland and delivered by 12 partner charities across 20 local authorities. Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we are embarking on a five-year growth plan to ensure every young person growing up in kinship care can access a mentor, no matter where they live in Scotland.

As Intandem mentoring continues to grow, the need for strong communications, effective event planning and dedicated fund management support has never been greater. This is an exciting time to join Intandem, with the opportunity to use your communications skills while gaining experience in, and contributing to, fund management.

The Communications and Impact Officer will play a pivotal role in the Intandem team in the years ahead. The role has three core elements:

1) shaping our communications

2) coordinating events

3) supporting the day-to-day delivery of the Intandem programme

The Intandem team works collaboratively, and you will play an instrumental role as the programme grows and expands its influence. Flexibility is essential, and you will have many opportunities to shape and influence our work.

• Location: Home Based with the expectation of regular travel to the office for team meetings and Scotland-wide locations for meetings and events with external stakeholders.
