The National Centre for Music (NCM) are seeking an experienced research consultant to uncover and tell the history of the former Royal High School as we take on the operation of the iconic building at the foot of Carlton Hill. This role is made possible through the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund who are funding an Activity Plan that will engage local communities, stakeholders, partners and audiences in the significant heritage story and destination of the former Royal High School.
The Hidden Histories Research Consultant will help to scope and manage our Hidden Histories research projects to enable the NCM staff, consultants and audiences to understand the full history of the former Royal High School. This consultancy post will focus on developing project(/s) with local community groups and associated staff to research the stories around the former Royal High School that have not been identified easily, with particular reference to uncovering stories about Royal High School pupils and/or staff who are from the Global Majority, women or LGBTQI+.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing and Communications Officer Marketing and Communications Officer to promote Fast Forward’s work to key audiences, and help us achieve our vision to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people across Scotland.
The successful candidate will work with project leads to communicate the impact of their service to stakeholders including funders, teachers, parents/care givers and organisational partners. The ultimate aim, to raise the profile of the organisation in the Scottish youth work landscape with potential and existing funders, partners, and other stakeholders.
You will be required to create communications and content plans for key channels including our website, social media channels and email.
We rely on a range of funders for income to support projects and new services in response to growing and changing needs. The role holder will also work closely with the CEO to conduct desk research for funding applications ensuring our funding bids are aligned with market trends and changes in the sector.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Project Manager to lead Fast Forward’s Scottish Gambling Education Hub (SGEH).
The SGEH was Scotland’s first gambling education and prevention programme focusing on protecting young people from gambling harms. Its work includes delivering training to practitioners, staff, schools and youth groups, developing resources, as well as partnership building with national organisations.

Our Complaints Reviewers play a key role in our work, analysing and resolving complaints across a wide range of sectors including councils, NHS, housing associations, most water and sewerage providers, the Scottish Government and its agencies and departments, colleges and universities, prisons, and most Scottish public bodies.
To be successful in this role, you will have a lively analytical mind and the sound judgement needed to make fair, consistent and just decisions. You will be able to demonstrate first class customer service through your empathetic but impartial approach. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to effectively liaise with complainants, bodies under our jurisdiction, MSPs and other stakeholder groups and to draft reports that are often complex and detailed. You must have previous complaints handling and/or dispute resolution experience and ideally you will have experience of one or more of the Ombudsman’s areas of jurisdiction.
