Role

About Down's Syndrome Scotland

Down's Syndrome Scotland is the only national charity in Scotland solely dedicated to promoting the value and potential of everyone living with Down's syndrome. Established in 1982, we support people with Down’s syndrome and their families to reach their fullest potential and champion their rights at every stage of life.

With over 1,500 members across Scotland and ten local branches, we campaign for greater acceptance and inclusion of people with Down's syndrome in every aspect of life. Our work has been guided to date by our three-year strategic framework "All to Play For", focusing on our four key programmes for change: Employment, Health, Transitions, and Community Living.

Role Purpose

We are seeking a creative and self-motivated Communications Lead to bring our communications strategy to life across all our digital and print channels. You will be responsible for developing engaging content that celebrates people with Down's syndrome, challenges misconceptions, and drives action to support our movement for change.

This role is crucial in amplifying our voice, growing our reach towards 4,500 Down’s Syndrome Scotland members by 2029, supporting ambitious fundraising goals and maximising our impact in changing perceptions and attitudes. You will work collaboratively with staff, members, and volunteers to tell authentic stories that demonstrate impact and inspire support.
