This is a leadership role with responsibility for managing and developing a small team that supports disabled people and their families to understand and access Self-directed Support (SDS).

Based mainly in Glasgow and working across three local authority areas, the postholder will combine staff leadership with hands-on work in the community, providing information, advice and short-term support, and leading outreach activities that raise awareness of SDS.

The role involves building strong relationships with disabled people, carers, local authorities and third sector partners, influencing good practice and supporting co-production.

This is a people-focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, is confident representing a service in community and professional settings, and is motivated by making a meaningful difference in their local community.

All posts will require PVG scheme membership.

We are seeking a dedicated Services Manager to join our West of Scotland services’ team. The West of Scotland area covers a wide geographical area and has services from Glasgow, Hamilton and Helensburgh. One of the key outcomes for this role will include managing the direct service provision of a group of services to the highest quality and maintaining these services as autism specific. The successful candidate will also manage the financial and budgetary targets involved in the provision of these services and participate in the planning, update and review of these budgets.

Suitable candidates will have a relevant qualification as set by the SSSC such as SVQ level 4 in Health/Social Care and the Leadership in Management and Care Award; coupled with experience in a management role.

Project Workers provide first line management to Assistant Project Workers using established supervision and performance management systems.

They will contribute to the personal development of self and the team of Assistant Project Workers in conjunction with the Team Coordinator/Project Leader. Project Workers will implement agreed systems, procedures and practice for assessments, plans and reviews in conjunction with the Team Coordinator/Project Leader

Knowledge of the role and purpose of a social care worker is desirable for the above post. However full induction and training will be provided including on the SSSC Codes of Practice and the National Care Standards and how this framework applies to your role.

A qualification at SVQ 3 or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards achieving this qualification is essential due to the requirements to register with the SSSC for this post.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the values and attitude required to work with people who are living with mental health problems and who may have complex needs.

Applicants must be able to work flexibly; some early morning, evening and

weekend working may be required.
