Community Volunteers Enabling You (COVEY) has operated across Lanarkshire for 32 years supporting 5,000 children, young people and parents/carers to become more resilient, safe and better equipped to reach their full potential. COVEY provides 1-1 and group-based befriending, mentoring and family support.

COVEY is seeking a passionate, professional and proactive individual to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of COVEY’s contribution to the Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) GROW Programme in Lanarkshire – designed to provide S3 and S4 pupils with meaningful work experience, industry exposure and employability skill development.

The post holder will coordinate and accompany groups of young people as they engage in meaningful employer visits, develop employability and life skills and work towards SCQF accredited qualifications (Work Aware and Work Experience Awards). They will ensure safe, high quality delivery by collaborating with schools, employers, DYW teams and transport providers while upholding COVEY’s values and safeguarding standards.

The post will be central to delivering COVEY’s growing employability and education strand, helping local young people to build skills, confidence and ambition through real-world work experience

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. We are now looking for a motivated and organised Volunteer Coordinator to support, grow, and champion our volunteer community—ensuring they feel valued, supported, and able to make a meaningful difference.

Job Purpose

The Volunteer Coordinator plays a vital role in recruiting, supporting, and developing volunteers who help deliver Kilmarnock YMCA’s programmes and events.

You will ensure volunteers are effectively integrated into activities such as youth work, community events, and the E-Sports Hub, while maintaining a supportive, inclusive, and well-organised volunteer culture aligned with YMCA values.

The COVEY Board of Trustees is seeking to appoint new trustees with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• HR/Employment Law – e.g. people management, organisational change, staff wellbeing and employment law in a UK context.
• Children, young people and family services – particularly in areas such as mentoring, youth work, education, social care or whole-family support.
• Senior leadership – proven experience at CEO or equivalent senior leadership level, ideally within the third sector or local/national government.

Our Board of Trustees bring wide ranging skills, knowledge, expertise and passion to the organisation. Working closely with the Chief Executive and Leadership Team, the Board has legal responsibility and strategic oversight of the charity, ensuring that it is financially sustainable, has strong governance, manages risk effectively, protects its reputation and delivers against its strategy and charitable objectives.

We have created a supportive, welcoming Board and will give you the support you need to get the best out of the experience, including a structured induction and opportunities to learn more about COVEY’s work.

Applications are encouraged from groups currently under-represented on charity Boards in Scotland.

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual. You will have the opportunity to use and further develop your skills and experience to support children and families across Lanarkshire and beyond.

The role will involve attending Board meetings (approximately four per year) plus an AGM and/or EGMs; and any training and strategy days as required. There will also be opportunities to join any standing committees of the Board or occasional short life working groups.

The position is voluntary, however reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed. Location: Meetings of the Board are normally held every quarter at South Lanarkshire College in East Kilbride between 6.00pm – 8.00pm.

We are now seeking a motivated and organised Climate Action Youth Worker with a passion for youth engagement, environmental action, and community development. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, communicates effectively, and is excited to help shape an innovative, Scotland-wide climate initiative.

Job Purpose

The Climate Action Youth Worker will work closely with a YMCA Board Subgroup to develop and deliver our Climate Action project in schools and communities across East Ayrshire.

You will inspire young people aged 5–18, alongside community participants of all ages, to engage meaningfully with climate action — supporting confidence, skills development, resilience, and positive relationships in line with YMCA values.

This role forms part of a Scotland-wide programme, delivered in partnership with seven other YMCA organisations and funded by the National Lottery Communities Fund.
