We are looking for someone to lead the planning and implementation of Perth Presbytery’s vision to develop Christian witness and ministry to the developing Bertha Park community.

Bertha Park is a new housing development with an emerging community on the edge of Perth where you would work within an evolving physical place, community and worshipping centre.

Bringing your experience in effective mission or outreach alongside your visionary and innovative outlook you will work in partnership to continue to develop and grow a new worshipping community through identifying the needs and requirements of those locally.

The Presbytery of Edinburgh and West Lothian is situated in East Central Scotland and covers an area of 574 sq km (222 square miles) and has a population of 726,100; the population of Edinburgh, the main city in the Presbytery, is forecast to double within the next three decades. There are currently 62 congregations; the Presbytery Mission Plan sees a further reduction to 46 over the next five years.

The Presbytery was formed in January 2022 when the former Presbyteries of Edinburgh and West Lothian came together as part of the reform programme established by the General Assembly. It has a number of mission contexts ranging from the well-known streets of the centre of Edinburgh to the thriving light industry and rural farmlands of western West Lothian, from a busy tourist city to areas of multiple deprivation, from apparent wealth to all too evident poverty.

This role offers the opportunity to use your skills to support Presbytery, playing a key role in ensuring that its administrative business is conducted smoothly and efficiently and, working with colleagues and Presbytery members, that the information and support needs of committees and congregations are met. The postholder will work closely with the Presbytery Clerk and the Depute Clerk, ensuring that meetings are arranged, that papers are prepared, that minutes are produced and that all actions are recorded and followed up timeously. The postholder will also provide senior secretarial and administrative support to the Clerks and to appropriate Committee Conveners. Flexibility, creativity and a willingness to share and experiment will all be vital. High-level administrative experience and good IT skills are essential, as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Some evening working will be required. Flexible patterns of work may be available but there is a basic requirement to work Monday - Friday.

We are looking for an experienced administrator to join the Business Support team of the General Trustees, the property-owning arm of the Church of Scotland, working to across the Business Support function. You will provide administrative support to the Trustees and Staff of the General Trustees and work collaboratively with colleagues as part of the wider administration team under the oversight of the Head of Business Support.

The successful candidate will have excellent administrative and organisational skills with highly developed IT skills. Providing excellent customer service, you should be able to easily work under pressure and be able to adapt to changing priorities within the department.

The Church of Scotland is seeking a creative and visionary Training Development Worker to help inspire and equip people across our Church for deeper discipleship, mission, and lifelong learning. This is a role for someone who believes in the transformative power of Christian formation and wants to help congregations, leaders, and communities grow in confidence, faith, and impact.

In this role, you will shape the learning resources that help people discover their calling, strengthen their faith, and serve with imagination and courage. You will contribute to the design and development of engaging materials—written, visual and digital—that support discipleship and leadership across congregations and presbyteries. You will bring ideas to life through film, scripts, guides and creative digital content, helping ensure that learning is accessible to people wherever they are.

Working collaboratively across the Faith Action Programme, you will contribute to the growth of Church of Scotland Learning on our Circle platform by refreshing existing materials, analysing engagement, and helping to maintain and enhance our Ascend website.

You will bring a strong understanding of mission and discipleship, experience in developing learning materials, and an ability to communicate across a wide range of audiences and theological perspectives. You will be comfortable with digital tools, confident managing projects, and motivated by seeing others grow through the resources you help create.
