About ESAS

East and Southeast Asian Scotland (ESAS) is a community-led organisation working for justice, rights, and empowerment of East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) communities across Scotland. We centre the voices of ESEA people while building solidarity and belonging across diverse communities.

• Founded in 2020 and incorporated as a Community Interest Company, ESAS has grown into a trusted and recognised voice. Our achievements include:
• Leading community research (Migrant Life in Scotland survey) on ESEA migrants’ access to services during the pandemic.
• Delivering emergency food, clothing, and IT support during COVID-19.
• Supporting wellbeing and inclusion through peer support groups, befriending, English lessons, and women’s sessions.
• Partnering with COSLA and the Scottish Government to support Hong Kong BN(O) migrants and improve access to services.
• Providing hate incident reporting and casework support through the national On Your Side service.
• Advocating for labour rights across the UK through the ESEA Migrant Alliance UK project funded by the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust.

The opportunity

We are seeking new Board Directors who share our commitment to justice, rights, and empowerment. As a Director, you will play a vital role in shaping strategy, strengthening governance, and ensuring our work has lasting impact.

Previous Board experience is not essential—we welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds, skills, and lived experience. We are particularly interested in candidates with knowledge or experience in:

• Governance and organisational leadership
• Finance (including an applicant for the Treasurer role)
• Fundraising and understanding of the NGO/funding landscape
• HR and compliance
• UK policy and systems that shape migrant and community wellbeing

Commitment

This is a voluntary, non-executive role (reasonable expenses reimbursed). The time commitment is around 29 hours per year, covering meetings, preparation, and occasional reviews. Meetings are mainly online, with one in-person meeting in Scotland annually. Every five years, Directors attend a Governance Development Weekend (the next in Jan/March 2026).

Are you curious, smart and interested in strengthening Scotland’s third sector?

Community Enterprise is a leading social enterprise and community development consultancy and support provider. We provide support to third sector groups across Scotland and beyond and work with communities to build and sustain projects for the benefit of local people.

We are looking to build our growing team with one part time Research and Project Support Worker. We are thinking about 3 days but are flexible.

You will be capable of contributing to research documents and other pieces of work led by our Development consultants. This can range from stakeholder interviews help at public meetings, site visits and case studies to on-line research and survey analysis. Your research will be used as the crucial building blocks for larger projects, led by our development team.

This could include community engagement, organisational development, governance, feasibility/ business planning or financial advice.

We are looking for an Advisor to join our team and provide a range of services for communities from one-to-one advice at every stage of the asset transfer process, access to Expert Help, networking and training opportunities.

This post will cover Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway. It will involve hybrid working from home and office, with travel throughout the country.

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and organised Development Officer to join our team. This role will involve the co-ordination and development of several programmes focusing on older members of our community. This will entail completing regular evaluation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support, co-ordinate and devise high quality opportunities for older people to participate in regular, frequent, safe and fun activities, incorporating Motherwell memories, health, safe living and crafts.
• Increase participation amongst under-represented groups by adopting a targeted approach, ensuring effective integration, planning, management and delivery of the Community Trust’s aims and values.
• Establish effective partnerships with key client groups at a local and national level
• Monitor and report to disseminate information concerning the programmes to all partners
• Operate a customer focused approach to the development and delivery of all Motherwell FC Community Trust programmes
• Work with local partners to maximise opportunities to promote wider health and wellbeing through MFC Community Trust programmes
• Deliver programmes to the client group and support volunteers in the delivery of programmes

Requirements:

• Experience of project management in the areas of education, sport, health or leisure
• Experience of partnership working with health, leisure and other pertinent staff
• Demonstrable experience of working with older people
• Excellent verbal, written and facilitation skills
• Ability to manage demands as well as flexibility to adapt to changing demands
• Ability to work with people who may experience isolation, lack confidence or experience communication difficulties
• A track record of being motivated, focused and organised
• Experience of developing positive relationships with people
• Demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development
• Ability to monitor and evaluate funded programmes
• Ability to work to an agreed project plan
