We are Scotland’s leading youth homelessness charity. We believe that no young person should ever face homelessness. That’s why we deliver bold, youth-specific solutions, built around young people’s experiences and what evidence tells us works.

We support young people to avoid and move on from homelessness, helping them build the confidence, skills and stability they need to thrive in adulthood. We also influence policy and practice to create a Scotland where no young person is left behind.

Context

Rock Trust delivers the Upstream prevention project in schools and the post holder will work with the Upstream Team, pilot schools and education departments to create a toolkit for the implementation of Upstream. This will involve working with current pilot schools to document the changes required in school systems, the challenges and how to overcome them and an assessment of the resources required to deliver Upstream. The Ask & Act Education Manager will use this learning to create a toolkit and implementation plan to be used for national implementation.

This role is responsible for:

• Coordinating work with multiple local authority Education departments, senior leaders and cross-sector partners (Housing, Social Work, Health, third sector)
• Designing and documenting processes, guidance and training materials that enable schools to embed early identification of housing risk
• Capturing learning, gathering data and producing a national implementation framework
• Ensuring all activity aligns with statutory duties, local contexts and Rock Trust’s prevention approach

The Ask & Act Education Manager will need to be methodical, have strong report writing skills and interpersonal skills to co-ordinate the information gathering and documenting. They will be responsible for delivering the toolkit to a high standard, making a lasting contribution to Scotland’s homelessness prevention system.

About the role

Do you live in Edinburgh or the surrounding area?

As a senior community fundraiser, you’ll be an important part of the team building Breast Cancer Now’s presence in Scotland, with a particular focus on Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

We’re looking for someone who is an experienced relationship builder, someone who can find and develop new supporters. You’ll need excellent local knowledge, and the enthusiasm to develop a brand-new fundraising region.

The successful candidate will also be part of the team working on our large-scale project supporting and growing Asda Tickled Pink, our award-winning partnership with Asda and CoppaFeel! which has already raised over £100 million.

You’ll work directly with passionate colleagues across Asda stores in your region driving new fundraising initiatives, inspiring communities and celebrating incredible successes.

No 2 days will look the same as you travel, connect and engage supporters to help us grow income to deliver our mission.

The role is initially offered as an 18-month contract with the potential to become permanent.

About you

You’re confident in approaching new contacts and are experienced in developing new relationships from scratch. This may currently be in a customer service, account management or stewardship role.

You’re experienced in managing and building new and established relationships with a focus on retention and income growth.

You’re enthusiastic, proactive, organised and unafraid to test and try new ideas.

You’re required to be involved being out and about in the community that you’re building, so you must be able to work independently outside of the office in varying locations and enjoy being busy.

Previous experience working in a charity is not required.

Primary location of role

This is a remote role, and the candidate will need to be based in the Edinburgh area with unlimited access to their own car. Regular travel will be required to meet supporters and visit Asda stores in your region, as well as occasional travel to our London, Sheffield or Glasgow office.

About the role

Your main focus will be to lead Shelter Scotland in effectively advocating for the structural policy changes required to end the housing emergency, driving forward our strategic goals to secure more social homes, strengthen housing rights, and build a lasting movement for change. You’ll develop and communicate clear, evidence-based policy recommendations – drawing on research, lived experience, and sector insight – to influence key stakeholders across government, parliament, and beyond. You’ll commission and manage external research, lead stakeholder events, and work collaboratively across teams to ensure our policy work supports public affairs, media, and operational activity. You’ll also line manage an Advocacy Officer, supporting their development and overseeing their performance.

Role specifics

You’ll bring strong experience in crafting high-impact communications that influence decision-makers and persuade key stakeholders. With a solid understanding of Scotland’s political landscape and public policy processes – particularly within the Scottish Government and Parliament – you’ll have a proven track record of driving change through effective advocacy and relationship-building at a senior level. You’ll be proactive in spotting opportunities to influence policy, responding strategically to external developments. Alongside this, you’ll have experience managing externally funded projects, including budgeting and reporting, and will be confident leading and motivating a team to achieve shared goals.

About the team

The Advocacy Team is part of Shelter Scotland’s Communications and Advocacy Department and is responsible for developing the charity’s policy positions, research plan, and public affairs and professional stakeholder engagement.

The Advocacy team works closely with colleagues in Community Advice and our Telephone and Online Advice services to capture evidence of how Scotland’s broken and biased housing system is impacting communities, and colleagues in Communications and Engagement to translate this evidence into compelling public campaigns and fundraising appeals. The team have led the organisation on developing an anti-racism evidence base, the economic and social benefits of social housing investment and the case for a human rights-based approach to meeting housing need.

Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust (PKHT) is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Grants Officer to lead the delivery of its historic building grant programmes, support traditional skills development, and engage communities with the region’s heritage. This senior, strategic, and hands-on role is central to the Trust’s mission to preserve, promote, and enhance the built heritage of Perth and Kinross.

Through innovative projects in archaeology, historic building conservation, traditional skills training and public engagement, the Trust connects people with their heritage while supporting regeneration, placemaking and community wellbeing.

What will you do as the Senior Grants Officer?

The Senior Grants Officer will lead the Perth City Heritage Fund (PCHF) and Community Heritage Grant scheme, overseeing grant administration, project delivery, training and community engagement. You will manage and support staff, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered to the highest professional and regulatory standards. You will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the delivery of the PCHF, including grant assessment, administration, monitoring, and reporting.
• Managing a portfolio of conservation projects, including design teams, contractors, and end users, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline compliance.
• Co-managing the Outreach and Skills Officer and line manage the Assistant Grants Officer.
• Deliver and support traditional skills training, educational workshops, and community engagement activities.
• Representing PKHT in meetings with funders, statutory bodies, local authorities, property owners, and community partners.
• Ensuring projects comply with funding, legal, and health and safety requirements.
• Maintaining robust project records, monitor outcomes, and report to Trustees.
• Lead on delivery of the Community Heritage Grant scheme, empowering local groups to celebrate and preserve their local heritage.

What does Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust need from you?

Experience:

• Proven experience delivering and managing grant programmes, ideally in the third sector or heritage sector.
• Experience managing budgets, contracts, and multiple projects to tight deadlines.
• Experience producing high-quality written work, including reports, evaluations, and funding submissions.
• Experience in community engagement leading to project development or successful funding applications.

Key Skills and Attributes

• Strong understanding of historic building conservation and traditional skills.
• Knowledge of heritage-led regeneration and the value of the historic environment.
• Awareness of relevant legislation, including the Tenements (Scotland) Act 2004, Health and Safety, and grant compliance.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgment, and collaborate effectively with a small team.
• IT competence including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desirable

• A degree or professional qualification in historic building conservation, architecture, town planning, heritage management, or a related discipline.
• Membership or working towards accreditation with a relevant professional body (e.g., IHBC, RIAS/RIBA, RICS, CIOB, RTPI).
• Experience managing historic building grant schemes.
• Familiarity with Scottish historic buildings, heritage issues, and Perth & Kinross.
