We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with experience in youth work to be our Youth Development Leader. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the Good News of Jesus Christ and the spiritual development of young people. You would be expected to worship at Viewpark and be actively involved in the life of the congregation in order to become familiar with the congregation and the wider work undertaken there. The successful applicant’s main focus will be to facilitate and further develop our TeenSpace Project. This involves working with young people from 11 to 17 in conjunction with a range of ecumenical partners and other voluntary and statutory bodies. A wide range of volunteers is involved.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience of working with young people,

• Be experienced in starting projects and delivering to completion,

• Have an awareness of current issues affecting young people,

• Be someone who has led teams of volunteers,

• Be an effective communicator in many settings,

• Be both self-motivated and an adaptable team player

St Silas is an evangelical church in the heart of Glasgow’s vibrant West-End. By God’s grace our congregation has experienced significant growth, and we are now seeking to appoint an Operations Manager.

The Operations Manager will work alongside the Rector and ministry staff, and oversee the committed ministry support team. Their role is to provide strategic oversight, management and development of the Church’s activities and operations.

This is a new and strategic post. We are looking for someone motivated to apply their gifts and skills in management and administration, in order to enable the church to fulfil its vision for mission and ministry.

While a Full Time role is envisaged, we would welcome enquiries about a part time alternative.

Under the guidance of the Islands Estate Manager, the Islands Centre’s Maintenance Worker’s role is to support the maintenance across the 8 properties on Iona and Mull. This includes regular visits to the Camas Centre to undertake work on the historic buildings and grounds and supervising workaways who visit the Centre during its current period of closure. The properties include:

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for consulting and working the various properties on Iona and the Camas Centre as required.

We are looking for a capable Accountant to join our team of committed staff in the Central Office to help with specific projects and to support the regular financial work of the charity and denomination.

The Accountant will have strong accounting skills, be experienced in financial reporting, be highly organised and self-motivated and will have a desire to manage Church finances well.

There is an Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 for the post holder to be a committed Christian who fully understands the nature of a local church. As such, the successful candidate will be a Christian with an active commitment in a local church congregation, who is supportive of the values, aims and ethos of the Free Church of Scotland.

The role is anticipated as being Between 21 and 35 hours per week. There is flexibility depending on the person. The role is based in the Central Office in Edinburgh with the option of some remote working. It is an exciting opportunity for someone to use their professional skills in a vocational Christian role.
