The Role
As the Schools & Community Fundraising Manager, you will maximise income generation from school, allocated challenge events, community fundraising and third party support in alignment with the Income Generation Strategy and annual targets. This role will lead the Schools and Community Fundraising Team, while maintaining the highest professional standards and regulatory compliance.
You will:
- Be the face of St Andrew’s Hospice within the Schools and Community Fundraising sector and be responsible for nurturing and growing relationships with new and existing Schools, Challenge events and Community Fundraising supporters.
- Be responsible for working as part of the Senior Fundraising Leadership team to meet the organisation’s income targets.
- Work with the Schools and Community Team to organise and develop all allocated schools, challenge events, and third party business fundraising activity, and manage these within agreed levels of expenditure.
- Have line management responsibility for the Schools and Community Team and volunteers.
- Develop and nurture relationships with schools, event sponsors, participants and third party supporters, to encourage support for St Andrew’s Hospice.
- Represent the Hospice at fundraising events, deliver impactful presentations, and ensure donor stewardship is handled with care, adhering to best practices and Fundraising Regulation guidelines.
- Support the work of the wider Fundraising department with other fundraising duties or initiatives as required.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience of delivering six figures or more of income related targets.
- Experience of delivering financially successful and well-planned events to maximise income for St Andrew’s Hospice.
- Experience and knowledge of working within schools, community fundraising or challenge events to secure support and develop their supporter journey.
- Proven experience of working within local communities to generate income and support. Experience of working with Schools, Community Fundraising supporters & event participants to secure Fundraising support.
- Experience of managing a team and ensuring the highest level of performance is achieved.
- Experience of Health and Safety in relation to full event planning and supervising team liaison with external license providers and related providers.

About the role

About You
You will have passion and drive to take forward a well-established Service and Team. Be passionate; and committed to the overall aims and objectives of the service and have the belief that people can live fulfilling lives with the right support in place.
You should also have:
- Experience of working with vulnerable people and leading a service delivery team, including managing the provision of a safe operating environment in a relevant context.
- The ability to negotiate with a wide range of internal and external partners and build positive relationships including local authorities and housing associations.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise your own time and workload to meet a number of different and competing tasks in sometimes pressurised environment.
- Social Service and Health Care at level 9 (SCQF) or other speciality/qualification recognised by the SSSC for registration purposes as well as a relevant management qualification.

Job Description
We are looking for a driven, dynamic & compassionate individual to lead our East Dunbartonshire Young People & Family Service. Our service provides free, confidential support to Young People and Families who are affected by their own or a loved ones substance use. We deliver a wide range of interventions including one to one support sessions, structured group-work, wellbeing activities. We can also provide in-house Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
You will strive to work collaboratively with partners and local communities, ensuring that we are as accessible as possible and that we deliver trauma informed support with the principles of a Recovery Oriented System of Care at the heart of all that we do. You will lead your team, providing development and clear direction aligned with the organisational aims and be a strong advocate for WithYou externally, maintaining and building our profile as you go. An SVQ Level 4 in Social Services and Health care & driving licence would be desirable for this post.
This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week between Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm, with some evening and weekend flexibility as required. The salary for this position is £29,272.60 per annum.

Essential Skills

We’re open to discussions with candidates working in leadership roles outside of the drug and alcohol arena - for example, in mental health or housing. We’re most interested in your ability to demonstrate motivational leadership skills, with the drive to promote staff development and retention. You’ll have the support of a Head of Service Delivery and a wider team of experienced and dedicated stakeholders across the organisation.
If you have experience managing comparable services, as either an established manager or in a team leader or similar capacity and you are looking for the next step up in your career, we would welcome your application.
You should have:
- Experience in drug and alcohol support services, or in an equivalent social care setting
- A proven track record of managing and supervising others
- Experience working with vulnerable people (Young People and Adults)
- SVQ Level 4 in Social Services and Health care (or be willing to complete this)
- Experience of partnership working and within multidisciplinary teams
- Experience of working within community based services
- Ability to develop and lead a cohesive team

Milton Community Garden Manager

The Milton Community Garden Manager will lead the development and delivery of a thriving, community-led garden that improves local health and wellbeing, strengthens community relationships, and increases access to nature. The role will oversee staff, community-led programmes and the garden’s facilities and grounds to ensure the garden supports key outcomes of the National Lottery Community Action Fund.
The postholder will support the garden’s therapeutic, educational and environmental programmes; increase community participation; deliver community meals and activities in collaboration with the Milton Food Hub; and develop the garden as a sustainable asset, including preparing the site for future venue hire and income generation. This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility for operational management, partnership development, and community-led working.
Total of 18 hours per week, at salary £30102 (pro rata £15481) + 25 days Annual Leave & 12 Public Holidays pro rata + 7% pension contribution. Funding is in place until 31 July 2028, subject to annual funding review and required reports.
