About Us
The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SSVP) is a global Catholic lay organisation whose volunteer members express their faith in the service of those in need. The Society in Scotland, through its Scotland-wide network of over 200 conferences and almost 2,000 volunteers, seeks to identify and combat all forms of poverty while helping address injustice and poverty’s root causes. We work actively to support families and individuals in need on a person-to-to person basis, regardless of their creed, colour, lifestyle or political belief. The Society, led by the Trustees, is embarking on an exciting programme of change and transformation designed to help the Society expand and grow.
About the Role
As the Operations Manager, you will:
- Act as an agent of change, work closely with the Society’s Trustees, to implement and drive an exciting programme of change and transformation that is aligned to the Society’s strategic priorities.
- Develop and maintain a strong team in the National Office that is well trained and has high morale.
- Work closely with the Trustees to ensure good governance, accountability, and set clear financial targets to ensure the delivery of the business plan and the future of the charity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Trustees, members, donors, the Bishops of Scotland and other SSVP societies in the UK and globally.
- Develop and implement a membership outreach strategy to recruit new members , retain existing ones and connect the Society’s conference network with the Society’s National Office and Trustees to ensure conferences are fully supported with their issues and challenges
- Deliver the Society’s Communications Strategy
- Support event planning and logistics for membership-focused events, including the Society’s Annual Conference.
- Provide advice and guidance to volunteers and conferences on safeguarding to ensure the Society’s compliance with legislation and arranging training where appropriate
What We Offer and the Working Environment
- Salary - £42k - £50k
- A central Glasgow working base
- Generous holiday entitlement of 25 days plus 10 public holidays.
- Employer pension contributions (3% of gross salary).
- The chance to work closely with the Society’s National President, the Society’s Trustees and a supportive and mission-driven team.
- Travel across Scotland to outreach events, community and other meetings as well occasional travel within the UK.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience in managing a team
- Proven experience of coordinating change and transformation initiatives.
- Experience working with senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and engage diverse audiences at differing seniority levels.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Confident networker and communicator, including speaking publicly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- A commitment to the Society’s ethos, values and mission.
Desirable:
- Experience in a membership-based organisation or charity sector.
- Experience of partnership and collaborative working involving multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of digital marketing and social media tools and techniques.
- Full driving licence

The Scottish Commission for People with Learning Disabilities (SCLD) is a Human Rights Defender. Our vision is of a Scotland where people with learning disabilities live full, safe, loving and equal lives.
SCLD is seeking a Finance and Resource Manager to join the senior leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a key role in shaping financial strategy, supporting operational delivery, and strengthening governance as we influence the development of policy, practice and legislation for people with learning disabilities.
In this role, you will lead on all aspects of financial management, including the preparation of management accounts, annual budgets, year-end reporting and the maintenance of robust financial controls. You will oversee payroll, ensure compliance with accounting and charity regulations, and manage the audit process. Accuracy, timeliness and strong reporting standards will be central to your work.
Your remit will also include wider operational responsibilities such HR and IT systems administration, procurement and office management. Working closely with two direct reports and colleagues across the organisation, you will help to maintain effective processes and a well-run working environment. You will also provide governance support by overseeing key committee meetings, including scheduling, preparing papers, recording minutes and following up on agreed actions.
We are looking for a qualified accountant with proven experience in financial leadership, ideally gained within a regulated or not-for-profit environment. Strong communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. Experience and knowledge of governance and risk management frameworks will be beneficial.

About the role
As the Registered Manager, you will be an experienced leader leading a team working with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives e.g. keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing.
As the Registered Manager you will:
- Maintain the continuing relevance of services to individuals’ needs and purchaser requirements by ongoing planning, monitoring and evaluation.
- Oversee the financial aspects of the service, managing significant budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and making financial decisions.
- Where a need or an opportunity is identified, lead on the development of new services, support business growth and maintain reputational excellence.
- Comply with governance, law and legislation including local authority compliance, Care Inspectorate (at level 5 and above), SSSC and safeguarding procedures.
- Support the senior management team in the streamlining, promotion and monitoring of quality assurance systems which meets the needs of individual services as well as the overall service delivery in the region.
- Develop, monitor and implement supervision and appraisal systems for staff.
About You
You will have passion and drive to take forward a well-established Service and Team. Be passionate; and committed to the overall aims and objectives of the service and have the belief that people can live fulfilling lives with the right support in place.
You should also have:
- Experience of working with vulnerable people and leading a service delivery team, including managing the provision of a safe operating environment in a relevant context.
- The ability to negotiate with a wide range of internal and external partners and build positive relationships including local authorities and housing associations.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise your own time and workload to meet a number of different and competing tasks in sometimes pressurised environment.
- Social Service and Health Care at level 9 (SCQF) or other speciality/qualification recognised by the SSSC for registration purposes as well as a relevant management qualification.
