Role

CHARTS (Culture, Heritage and Arts Assembly, Argyll and Isles) is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Finance and Administration Assistant (Part-Time). This role is essential to the smooth running of CHARTS’ daily operations and financial processes, supporting our dynamic work across the creative, cultural, and heritage sectors in Argyll and Bute. The role is remote, with occasional in-person meetings.

You’ll report to the Head of Finance and contribute to a supportive and collaborative working environment.

Summary of the Role

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Maintain credit control procedures.
  • Assist with reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Support budget monitoring and finance report preparation.
  • Liaise with external accountant on payroll, VAT, and year-end accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies.
  • Provide admin support to the Director and team (scheduling, documents, correspondence).
  • Maintain administrative systems and databases.
  • Coordinate Board/committee meetings (papers, minutes, logistics).
  • Support data protection and information governance compliance.

Who We're Looking For

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a finance/admin role.
  • Attention to detail and good numeracy.
  • Strong time management and ability to work independently.
  • Confident with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to working in a team.
