Role
At UWS Students’ Union, we’re here to make student life better. That means being student-led, supporting campaigns that matter, and making sure students feel heard, included and represented.
We’re looking for a Communications & Digital Coordinator (Maternity Cover) to join our team at a time of exciting change. We’re transforming how students get involved in shaping their Union, and this role will play a big part in helping us tell that story.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll be responsible for managing our digital channels and making sure our communications are clear, engaging and student focused. From promoting officer campaigns and supporting elections, to creating social media content and keeping the website up to date, your work will help connect students with the Union and each other.
You’ll also:
- Design digital and print materials that promote our services, events and campaigns.
- Support student reps and societies with their own publicity and visibility.
- Help shape messaging around our key democratic changes, including how students engage with decision-making.
- Track performance and trends using analytics, and suggest ways we can improve our digital engagement.
You’ll be part of a small, friendly and ambitious team that’s open to new ideas and committed to equity and inclusion. About the role
As the Registered Manager, you will be an experienced leader leading a team working with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives e.g. keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing.
As the Registered Manager you will:
- Maintain the continuing relevance of services to individuals’ needs and purchaser requirements by ongoing planning, monitoring and evaluation.
- Oversee the financial aspects of the service, managing significant budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and making financial decisions.
- Where a need or an opportunity is identified, lead on the development of new services, support business growth and maintain reputational excellence.
- Comply with governance, law and legislation including local authority compliance, Care Inspectorate (at level 5 and above), SSSC and safeguarding procedures.
- Support the senior management team in the streamlining, promotion and monitoring of quality assurance systems which meets the needs of individual services as well as the overall service delivery in the region.
- Develop, monitor and implement supervision and appraisal systems for staff.
About You
You will have passion and drive to take forward a well-established Service and Team. Be passionate; and committed to the overall aims and objectives of the service and have the belief that people can live fulfilling lives with the right support in place.
You should also have:
- Experience of working with vulnerable people and leading a service delivery team, including managing the provision of a safe operating environment in a relevant context.
- The ability to negotiate with a wide range of internal and external partners and build positive relationships including local authorities and housing associations.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise your own time and workload to meet a number of different and competing tasks in sometimes pressurised environment.
- Social Service and Health Care at level 9 (SCQF) or other speciality/qualification recognised by the SSSC for registration purposes as well as a relevant management qualification.

Young Carers Support Worker

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individuals to join our team. Y sort it Young Carers Service supports young carers aged between 8-18 years across West Dunbartonshire.
This exciting post offers a unique opportunity to work with Young Carers within school, home & community based settings. The role of the Young Carer Support Worker will be to support young carers in making informed choices around issues that are important to them, through one to one, group work sessions & respite.
You will be offering and completing Young Carers Statements (Assessments), developing support plans, providing advice and information, training and group work to support young carers with their caring role.
Young carers are supported through a range of measures to alleviate the caring role and your role will be to work closely with schools, partner agencies and family members to ensure they are able to be a young person first and foremost.
You will be active at providing support and encouragement, helping them to overcome challenges and /or barriers working towards goals to improve their learning, skills and personal development. Offering guidance, rights based information, creating learning opportunities. You will be developing support plans, providing advice and information, training and peer support. Your role will be to work closely with schools, partner agencies and family members.
The post holder should be flexible as the actual times of work will involve working, evenings, school holidays and weekends. Family Mediation West provides support to families affected by separation, divorce, and conflict. We have premises in Glasgow and Kilmarnock allowing us to offer services across the West of Scotland. We are affiliated to Relationship Scotland, who support a national network of 21 local service providers for individuals, couples and families experiencing relationship breakdown. We are seeking an administrator, with experience, to support a broad range of administration tasks within a family conciliation service. Full support and training will be given for this role within both the service provisions well as all our operational systems. FM West operations largely deal with service users, their family solicitors, and the Scottish Court system. The role may suit a candidate well that has experience of administration within a legal, charity, social work, or child services background. There is full training on operations available, and the opportunity to work alongside our current administrators who will provide personalised 1-2-1 on the job support to the successful candidate.
