Role

Our mission is to reduce barriers, innovate delivery, and engage communities in staying active. Join us as a Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser and play a vital role in securing funding to support over 14,000 people annually through our Active Communities programmes.
As part of our dedicated Funding Team, you will develop and deliver our trusts and grants pipeline, securing significant income from trusts, foundations, lotteries, and national agencies. Your work will contribute to an annual income target of around £1 million, supporting a wide range of projects that break down barriers to physical activity.
In this impactful and exciting role, you will:
- Develop strategies to secure income from trusts, foundations, and statutory funders, building a pipeline for multi-year, high-value grants.
- Identify funding opportunities aligned with Edinburgh Leisure’s mission and advise colleagues on creating fundable projects.
- Write tailored funding proposals and budgets, collaborating with the Active Communities Team and other departments to develop strong cases for support.
- Build and maintain relationships with funders, providing regular updates, impact reports, and engagement activities.
- Monitor and report on income and project impact, creating case studies and content for the annual Impact Report.
- Represent Edinburgh Leisure at external meetings, networking events, and award submissions to enhance its reputation and charitable purpose.
What we’re looking for:
- Professional certification in fundraising or equivalent experience with ongoing professional development.
- At least 3 years of experience in fundraising from trusts, grants, lotteries, corporate foundations, or local authorities, with a proven track record of securing 5 and 6-figure sums
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills to craft clear, compelling proposals for diverse audiences.
- Up-to-date knowledge of fundraising legislation, best practices, and the trusts and statutory funding landscape.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and networking skills to build relationships with funders and stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet income targets under pressure.
- Resilience, passion, and high emotional intelligence to navigate challenging conversations and work with diverse groups, including those facing health, poverty, or disability barriers.
- Desirable: Recognised fundraising, project management, or leadership qualification; knowledge of barriers to physical activity (e.g., health, poverty, disabilities); experience supporting volunteers.

This is a hybrid role with a mix of office-based work and the option to work from home where appropriate. Occasional travel beyond the city may also be required.

Overview
Edinburgh Community Food (ECF) is seeking an experienced and proactive Fundraising and Impact Manager to lead our fundraising strategy and demonstrate the impact of our work addressing food insecurity and promoting community wellbeing.
This is a key role for the organisation, responsible for securing funding from diverse income streams, including trusts, foundations, and corporate partnerships, and for improving how we evidence and communicate our impact to funders, partners, and the wider public.
What You’ll Do
• Develop and deliver an ambitious and sustainable fundraising strategy.
• Build and manage relationships with funders, donors and partners.
• Lead on writing compelling funding applications and reports.
• Design and embed an impact measurement framework aligned with ECF’s strategic goals.

By joining Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) as a Community, Events & Corporate Fundraiser (3rd Party Events specialism) you can be the difference between people just surviving and really living.
You will be part of Scotland’s leading charity providing support to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live life to the full again. Our Community Support Service forms a nationwide network of local support groups, nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping families adjust to life with a heart or lung condition or after a stroke.
Organised, motivated and a confident communicator, you’ll be responsible for driving income and building relationships in your area, to ensure we have the funds needed to continue our lifechanging work. We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds including (but not limited to) events, marketing, fundraising and sales.
With creativity and ambition, you’ll be responsible for developing the 3rd Party Events strand of our income generation strategy. The focus will involve developing, growing and stewarding our key 3rd party events, such as Edinburgh Marathon Festival, Kiltwalks and Great Scottish Run. Managing volunteers and making links within your community will also be key - no two days will be the same!
You’ll be joining a hard-working and talented fundraising team, working closely with the Community, Corporate and Events Fundraising Manager as well as the wider fundraising team. You’ll cover the South region - these include the following postcodes DG, KA, ML and TD, so we welcome candidates based within the patch or those who live nearby, have a car and are willing to travel. We are looking for people with great organisational skills, energy, passion and enthusiasm, who is experienced at developing relationships, and can manage a busy and varied workload.
