After 21 years, with a new development strategy in the pipeline to transform our organisation into a dynamic hub of activities, we are committed to delivering innovative programmes, projects, and services that cater to the diverse needs of deaf communities across Lanarkshire. We are seeking to welcome a dedicated, passionate, and skilled part-time Project Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will work 18 hours per week for our Inclusive Carer Breather for Deaf Parents and Families Project. The successful candidate will play a vital role in planning, implementing, and evaluating this project and will have the opportunity to make a significant impact within deaf communities.

The project aims to provide meaningful breaks and tailored support for deaf parents in North Lanarkshire who care for children, young people, and adults with diverse needs, including underlying health conditions / long-term conditions. Planned activities include respite and time-out opportunities, training and awareness sessions, emotional and peer support, advocacy, and financial guidance.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the health, mental health and wellbeing of deaf parents and families in North Lanarkshire. The role offers the chance to develop and implement innovative solutions, and to make a significant impact on both deaf communities and people’s lives. This role requires a flexible approach to working evenings and weekends.

Additional information – The North Lanarkshire Carers Together Carer Breather Fund will fund this Inclusive Carer Breather for Deaf Parents and Families Project until Friday 31 March 2028 (three years project funding).

Assistant Project Workers and Project workers will have the ability to establish supportive relationships with individuals who are living with or recovering from mental health problems and will have excellent communication and organisational skills to enable them to comply with personal planning guidelines and work in conjunction with our key referrers

Knowledge of the role and purpose of a social care worker is desirable for the above posts. However full induction and training will be provided including on the SSSC Codes of Practice and the National Care Standards and how this framework applies to your role.

A qualification at SVQ2/SVQ 3 or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards achieving this qualification is essential due to the requirements to register with the SSSC for this post.

GAMH are commissioned by Glasgow Carers Partnership to deliver generic carers services to support unpaid Carers living within the North East of the city. Our service offers inclusive and holistic support to Carers to help maintain their quality of life and improve their health and wellbeing.

The primary focus of this post will be to work with unpaid Carers and Young Carers delivering a range of supports so Carers will have the ability to manage their caring responsibilities whilst also maintaining their own wellbeing.
