About the Meeting Centre

The Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) meeting centre is one of around 35 meeting centres across Scotland which are inclusive, supportive social hubs designed to enhance the wellbeing and quality of life of people living with dementia and their care partners. The centre provides person led social opportunities, structured therapeutic activities and practical support to both people with a diagnosis of dementia and their care partners/families. Importantly meeting centres provide opportunities for peer support, to be with people in the “same boat”, learn something new and have fun!

RVH meeting centre is the first in the UK to open in a hospital setting, providing a unique opportunity to provide person-centred care and support in this setting, helping to alleviate the stress people living with dementia experience during hospital stays. RVH meeting centre will also serve as a training hub for healthcare students, equipping them with the skills and compassion needed to deliver high quality dementia care into the future.
