Home-Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire is a vibrant community charity making a big impact on families with young children (under 5) in the local area. Our trained volunteers and staff help families through challenging times. In Scotland, over 1,500 volunteers support over 3,500 families and 6,500 children each year through compassionate, confidential help to parents when they need us most.

The parents we support are often overwhelmed and isolated. They may be struggling with mental health, illness, disability, multiple birth, poverty, domestic abuse, separation or trauma. We provide both 1:1 and group support to families, helping them to cope with the stresses and strains of life and make sure they have the skills, confidence and strength they need to nurture their children.

We are now looking to welcome a new Administrator to our Glasgow North team.

We are looking for someone that is based in the Scottish Borders, with at least 5 years of previous experience as an administrator. You will be able to demonstrate experience of working remotely, a self-starter that understands the importance of meeting deadlines and managing your workload effectively. You will have excellent administrative and financial experience, be able to handle confidential information, communicate with clients and their families with care and sensitivity, as well as the ability to manage our work with local solicitors and other partners across the Scottish Borders. Home-Start Edinburgh is a volunteer-led charity with over 35 years-experience working in local communities, supporting families with a child under 5 in the home. We are currently recruiting for the role of Family Support Co-ordinator. Whilst our Head Office is in Leith, the successful applicant will be required to support volunteers and families in one of Edinburgh’s four localities.

This role will be tasked will support families, predominantly through the network of volunteers they recruit, support and train. They will also be expected to contribute to the wider operation and further development of the scheme.

The post-holder will work with the other Family Support Co-ordinators, as well as other staff, to ensure families receive holistic, high quality support. They will contribute to the ongoing training and development of volunteers, including delivery of the Volunteer Prep course, as well as networking with other local organisations.

The Yard is an award-winning charity that runs adventure play services for children with disabilities and/or additional support needs and their families.

As a Play Team Leader, you will supervise and deliver a range of inclusive social, recreational and adventure play-based activities at The Yard, with the rest of the play team.

About the role:

Your daily routine will be as varied as the needs of the people you are supporting. You will be ensuring the safety of the children within The Yard, engaging children and young people in creative play, liaising with their parents and carers, schools and other organisations to ensure service satisfaction remains high and supervising the play and volunteering staff effectively.
