What is the role?
This role is to cover a period of maternity leave up to one year. As a member of the Corporate Leadership Team (CLT) and reporting directly to the Director of Service Delivery, you will be responsible for delivering, implementing, and evaluating victim support services across Scotland. You will work in partnership with the current Head of Service Delivery and together you will ensure that our services meet the needs of all our service users.
You will have responsibility for managing staff and volunteers, ensuring that they are supported, knowledgeable and capable to deliver services that meet service users' needs.
As part of the VSS team you will work collaboratively to ensure that VSS’s strategic objectives are being implemented and will have a key role in developing future strategies and business planning to ensure that the needs of victims and witnesses are being met.
Primary location: Glasgow or Edinburgh
Salary: £47,266.24 - £62,420 per annum. Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review in line with VSS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
What you’ll need to be successful
You will hold a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development with a solid academic foundation. As well as excellent quantitative and qualitative research skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent organisational and planning abilities encompassing program, resource, and performance management.
Showing effective communication skills, both written and verbal, demonstrated through successful external relationship management and the ability to present complex information visually to diverse audiences.

Please note - this post will be subject to a Basic Disclosure Scotland check and two satisfactory references. The role is based in the Central Belt but the ability to travel to all VSS bases and spaces is a requirement.

We need a dedicated individual to forge strong relationships with people who are or who have been in police custody in the Fife area. Using a trauma-informed approach you will work with people of all ages and from every walk of life, supporting them in making positive changes.
You must be a skilled communicator who has an ability to connect with people facing a challenging range of issues. A team player, you will work closely with partners across Fife to achieve the right outcomes for those we’re supporting. Often the people you encounter will be at a low point in their lives so you must be able to show empathy and forge a connection during that ‘reachable moment’, then back it up with the ability to create strong, trusting relationships which support people to access the help they need.

The role requires occasional evening work and to be part of a rota to support individuals in police custody on a Sunday, followed up with community outreach support during the week.

About You
Are you looking for a role which will enable you to make a significant positive impact on the wellbeing of the three most underrepresented communities in athletics and running in Scotland?
scottishathletics collaborates closely with Athletics Trust Scotland to help get Scotland moving, through increased participation in running and more widely athletics. We are looking for an ambitious ‘go getter’ to help us to develop and deliver our fund-raising strategy which underpins our objectives.
The role will involve identifying and securing funding commitments from our three priority sources – grant funding organisations, the corporate community and the running community. You will also engage with the wider athletics community and play an active part in developing wider partnerships to support the organisations objectives
You will be able to demonstrate how you would establish, engage, maintain and develop relationships across these audiences. To support you in delivering the objectives of the role, you will have the full support of ATS Trustees alongside the scottishathletics team.
This is a fixed term role with a desired commitment of between 18 to 30 hours per week, offering hybrid working opportunities. The role can be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow, at one of the scottishathletics’ offices.
About the Role
Working closely with the Trustees and ambassadors, the Head of Fundraising & Development will lead on the delivery of the Trust’s objectives for 2025-2027 with a specific focus on increasing fundraising across three priority sources:
Running and athletics community
Grant funding
Corporate sponsorships and partnerships
This is an exciting time to work with Athletics Trust Scotland as they enter the next phase of their development and work closely with national and local partners to increase our impact across Scotland. Particular focus is being placed on increasing access and participation for ethnically and culturally diverse communities, people with disabilities and people living in poverty.
Staff
This role will be formally employed by scottishathletics, ensuring alignment with the broader athletics community in Scotland while supporting the Trust’s mission and activities. Athletics Trust Scotland is governed by a committed Board of six Trustees who provide strategic oversight and guidance.
scottishathletics employs 32 members of staff and 24 Club Together Officers.
Place of Work
The role will be based in one of scottishathletics offices located in either the Emirates Arena, 1000 London Road, Glasgow, G40 3HG or the Laurie Liddell Clubhouse, 42 Peffermill Road, Edinburgh, EH16 5LL. Additionally, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement.
Salary
The starting salary offered for the post will be pro-rata £45,000 (FTE). Annual pay awards will be made in accordance with the salary review procedures agreed by the scottishathletics Board of Directors.

Hours of work
The person appointed will be expected to work for a minimum of 18 hours per week. We would like to provide flexibility for the successful candidate and can offer up to 30 hours per week. On a few occasions there may be a requirement to work in the evening and at weekends. The organisation encourages a flexible working approach from all staff, consistent with meeting the needs of the business.
Pension
scottishathletics operates a qualifying group pension scheme for auto-enrolment purposes and will match the successful candidates’ contribution up to a maximum of 6% of salary, including the legal minimum contributions required.
Annual Leave and Public Holidays
The annual leave entitlement for this post is 25 days pro rata. In addition, the public holiday entitlement is 10.5 days pro rata.
Travel and Subsistence
The post holder will be required to travel to meetings within Scotland and occasionally in the UK. Travel and subsistence will be reimbursed at scottishathletics’ current rates.
Probationary Period
All new members of staff will serve a six-month probationary period before their appointment is confirmed.
Notice
This post carries a one-month period to terminate employment after the satisfactory completion of the probationary period.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Solicitor and Senior Management Team to develop the delivery of the service across Glasgow and Scotland.

The successful candidate MUST have:
- A proven record in working with funders

To oversee all aspects of the Hamilton District Foodbank operation and ensure alignment to the agreed operating model as follows:
- Recruiting volunteers including interviews, reference checks, disclosure checks (as required), and obtaining signed confidentiality / GDPR agreements
- Recruiting and supporting Duty Co-ordinators
- Organising and facilitating volunteer training
- Ensuring that all volunteers adhere to the confidentiality agreement
- Ensuring that the Foodbank meets Health and Safety standards
- Ensuring that the Foodbank meets Environmental Health standards
- Developing, maintaining and ensuring compliance to policies and procedures (e.g. Safeguarding)
- Maintaining awareness of the benefit system and any changes to it, and understanding and responding to the impact of those changes on the Foodbank operation and future plans
- Communicating with all the relevant people including churches, volunteers, Trussell Trust, Referring Agencies and Committee members
- Ensuring that the Foodbank maintains the online database, website, and social media
- Communicating with local media and positively promoting the Foodbank service
- Organising Foodbank representation at Community events
- Working in partnership with the Salvation Army in Hamilton
