About National Programmes
Change Mental Health is the lead partner in the Highlands for the Scottish Government’s Distress Brief Intervention project (DBI). The DBI is a Scotland-wide pilot project, testing a ground-breaking approach to address the emotional and psychological pain experienced by people in distress.
Working in partnership with frontline services, including Police, Ambulance service, Primary Care and mental health teams, the project provides rapid referral to focused, short-term support, with the option of onward referral to longer-term support if required. As the National Programme lead you will play a significant role in this major, high profile Scottish Government project. Additionally, you will lead on the development of new national programmes/ services and oversee the running of them.
About the Role
As National Programme Lead, you will oversee and lead all Change Mental Health DBI Teams and assist in the development of the DBI programme on behalf of Change Mental Health. You will have responsibility to ensure that our work to support people in distress is delivered to a high standard and within the framework agreed with the Scottish Government and the DBI Programme Board. You will provide visible leadership to staff and be a strong role model and leader in building a positive and supportive culture as part of your role.
You will work closely with senior colleagues in Change Mental Health and in a wide range of statutory and third sector agencies to ensure that the Distress Brief Intervention, and other national programmes of work/ services continue to deliver an innovative service in a compassionate and connected way. With partnership working at the forefront, you will develop the services while working closely with key partners, in liaison with the appropriate Heads of Service and the Director of Services.
The National Programme Lead will work across several areas of Scotland including, but not limited to, Highland, Argyll & Bute, Dumfries and Galloway, Western Isles and CMH National office in Edinburgh.

By joining Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) as a Community Support Services Co-ordinator you can be the difference between people just surviving and really living.
You will be part of Scotland’s leading charity providing support to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live life to the full again. Our Community Health Support Services form a nationwide network of local support groups, nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping families adjust to life with a heart or lung condition or after a stroke.
We are looking for a Community Support Services Coordinator to join our amazing team in the Lothian area. This role is focused on making sure that people affected by chest, heart and stroke conditions get the help they need and get back to doing the things that matter to them.
Through our Community Support Services, you will support people to have the confidence and tools to self-manage their health condition and live as independently as possible. You’ll also help people get back to doing the things that are important to them – from simple things like walking to their local shop following a stroke, to returning to a sky-high hobby of gliding!
You’ll be directly involved in supporting people with chest, heart and stroke conditions through both one-to-one and group services in both community and hospital settings. You’ll work with the rest of the Community Support Services team in Lothian, and manage a team of incredible volunteers, to make a real difference to the lives of people with our conditions.
Candidates don’t need to have medical knowledge as training is provided on our health conditions. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude towards people with disabilities and long-term conditions; an understanding of the challenges faced by people with chest, heart and stroke conditions including Long Covid; an understanding of community service provision; the ability to recruit, manage and motivate a team of volunteers; and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Purpose of Job
FetLor Youth Club is a busy and thriving youth centre in the north of Edinburgh. The Club welcomes over 300 young people every week to enjoy a range of clubs and activities. Club events are facilitated by a team of youth workers. This new post will add to the team that is currently in place.
We have a strong ethos of providing emotional support to all the young people who choose to spend their time with us. Every aspect of club life is underpinned by the value we place upon emotional support offered through a listening, non-judgemental and caring practice.
Main Duties
Supporting and listening to all young people who attend our club.
Ensuring young people remain at the heart of all our club activities.
Supervising young people attending the club and supporting them in undertaking a variety of club-based activities including, but not restricted to
Attending residential activities, such as sleepovers, Hopscotch and Outward-Bound programmes. This commitment is generally no more than 10 nights per year.
Maintain and contribute to social media networks relating to our club.
Be competent in the use of MS Word and Excel
Completing evaluations of youth work sessions using our in-house system.
Being prepared to attend safeguarding and first aid training and put this learning to use when required.
Be flexible and able to support our six-week summer programme of daytime activities throughout July and early August each year. Please note, annual leave will not normally be authorised during this period.
Any other reasonable duties that are appropriate or as directed by the Youth Work Manager, Chief Executive or the Board.
