We are currently seeking to enhance our Board of Directors through the recruitment of suitable volunteers. A commitment to young people and youth work is essential and experience in GDPR, management of voluntary organisations or strategic development would be advantageous.
The Board of Directors meet bimonthly at our office in Dumbryden Drive; meetings are held in the evening. There is no remuneration for Directors, however, all reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
This role is subject to PVG Membership.

About The Role
The Board of Trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of The Junction, supporting our aims, objectives and goals.
We currently hold 2-hour Board meetings four times per year, which you can join in-person or online. You will also have the opportunity to attend subgroups, informal meetings and team events.

About The Role
The Treasurer will assist and advise the Board of Directors on issues related to finance. The position works in partnership with members of the staff team who deal with much of the day-to-day financial business, predominantly the Director and Finance Officer. All Trustees collectively play their part in financial monitoring and decision making at The Junction.
Within the role you will contribute to Finance Sub-Groups (meeting roughly 4 times per year in advance of a Full Board Meeting). You will also share Finance Papers at full Board Meetings which take place 4 times per year. You can join in-person or online.
About You

Salary: £76,632 – £82,086

Pension: We offer a generous pension package to all staff from their first day with Young Scot, and we offer an auto enrolment pension scheme with People’s Pension. Staff contribute 5% of their salary and we contribute 10% of your salary. All staff are covered by a life assurance scheme that pays four times their basic salary in the event of death in service.
Holidays: Our holiday entitlement is 25 days a year, plus 10 public holiday days. We close the office over Christmas and New Year, giving staff an extra three days as a thank you for their hard work throughout the year. Y sort it Care Connections programme aims to support care experienced young people aged between 10-16 years, within West Dunbartonshire.
The role of the Care Connections Support Worker will be to provide support appropriate to care experienced young people’s learning needs, raising attainment by providing a supportive pathway throughout the young person’s school life and beyond.
You will be active at providing support and encouragement, helping them to overcome challenges and /or barriers working towards goals to improve their learning, skills and personal development.
Care Connection Support Workers will be the #Keeping The Promise leads, work with young people currently accessing Y Sort It services who are care experienced. Offering guidance, rights based information, creating learning opportunities. You will be developing support plans, providing advice and information, training and peer support. Your role will be to work closely with schools, partner agencies and family members.
The post holder should have a knowledge of the Scottish education system, including Curriculum for Excellence, SQA qualifications, and approaches to supporting Additional Support Needs (ASN) within school settings. Experience of working within educational environments and collaborating with school staff to support learning plans and transitions is essential.
The post holder should be flexible as the actual times of work will involve working, evenings, school holidays and weekends. The post holder should be flexible as the actual times of work may change to respond to the demands of the work of the Care Connections programme including overnight stays.

We are unique in the fact that Y sort is governed by a Youth Management Board, with all members registered as company directors. This ensures that Y sort it continues to be FOR young people BY young people of West Dunbartonshire.
