Role
Duncan Place Community Hub is a friendly, welcoming and inclusive hub in the heart of Leith. The charity provides a brilliant programme of community events, is financially sound and has a great team of staff managing the day-to-day tasks. There are currently seven Trustees from a variety of backgrounds and Duncan Place is now looking to welcome five more to the board. Trustees play an integral part in developing the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring its good governance and overseeing the delivery of the organisation’s aims and objectives.
Experienced trustees are welcome, but you don’t have to have been a trustee before. Enthusiasm and a willingness to share your skills and offer guidance to your fellow trustees and staff is what we’re after. We’d especially like to add expertise in financial management, staff development, funding applications, information technology and legal knowledge in the areas of leases and contracts. Current trustees have skills in property, facilities management, marketing, treasury skills and community involvement. Further skills in these areas are also always welcome.
About Duncan Place Community Hub
Duncan Place Community Hub is a registered charity operating as a social enterprise. After being under threat of demolition, the building was saved by the local community, a charity was established, and funds were raised for a full refurbishment. Now a thriving and busy community centre in Leith, the hub has a growing programme of groups, classes and events. This brings folks together to share and learn, increase well-being, and reduce social isolation. Through providing secure and affordable long-term tenancies, the hub is also home to several other charities. Income from the long term leased space and from low cost activity fees means that the charity is financially healthy and has decent reserves. This innovative model means that the charity is able to use funds raised to respond to the communities needs without the need to rely on short term funding.
Training Details
Current board members and the manager of the charity will provide induction and ongoing support. Online training for the role of a charity trustee is available through Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations Council (EVOC).
Flexibility & Commitment
6 to 10 in-person evening meetings per year. These are 1.5-2hrs long. Occasional sub-group work may be required.
A minimum 12-month commitment is desirable. The Constitution allows for up to 6 terms of office.

The Centre Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the Greyfriars Charteris Centre – a busy Centre for Community – by providing a welcoming presence to visitors, managing bookings, overseeing activities, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the Centre. As the first point of contact for visitors and enquiries, they will address issues as they arise and support the effective operation of the Centre.
Core hours will be around 9:30 am – 4:30 pm with flexibility required around centre bookings and breaks due to the nature of the role.

About Athletics Trust Scotland
Athletics Trust Scotland was launched in 2021. The Trust aims to use the power of athletics and running to transform lives in Scotland and supports people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities across the country to improve their physical health, mental health, social health and wellbeing.

About You
Are you looking for a role which will enable you to make a significant positive impact on the wellbeing of the three most underrepresented communities in athletics and running in Scotland?
scottishathletics collaborates closely with Athletics Trust Scotland to help get Scotland moving, through increased participation in running and more widely athletics. We are looking for an ambitious ‘go getter’ to help us to develop and deliver our fund-raising strategy which underpins our objectives.
The role will involve identifying and securing funding commitments from our three priority sources – grant funding organisations, the corporate community and the running community. You will also engage with the wider athletics community and play an active part in developing wider partnerships to support the organisations objectives
You will be able to demonstrate how you would establish, engage, maintain and develop relationships across these audiences. To support you in delivering the objectives of the role, you will have the full support of ATS Trustees alongside the scottishathletics team.
This is a fixed term role with a desired commitment of between 18 to 30 hours per week, offering hybrid working opportunities. The role can be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow, at one of the scottishathletics’ offices.
About the Role
Working closely with the Trustees and ambassadors, the Head of Fundraising & Development will lead on the delivery of the Trust’s objectives for 2025-2027 with a specific focus on increasing fundraising across three priority sources:
Running and athletics community
Grant funding
Corporate sponsorships and partnerships
This is an exciting time to work with Athletics Trust Scotland as they enter the next phase of their development and work closely with national and local partners to increase our impact across Scotland. Particular focus is being placed on increasing access and participation for ethnically and culturally diverse communities, people with disabilities and people living in poverty.
Staff
This role will be formally employed by scottishathletics, ensuring alignment with the broader athletics community in Scotland while supporting the Trust’s mission and activities. Athletics Trust Scotland is governed by a committed Board of six Trustees who provide strategic oversight and guidance.
scottishathletics employs 32 members of staff and 24 Club Together Officers.
Place of Work
The role will be based in one of scottishathletics offices located in either the Emirates Arena, 1000 London Road, Glasgow, G40 3HG or the Laurie Liddell Clubhouse, 42 Peffermill Road, Edinburgh, EH16 5LL. Additionally, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement.
Salary
The starting salary offered for the post will be pro-rata £45,000 (FTE). Annual pay awards will be made in accordance with the salary review procedures agreed by the scottishathletics Board of Directors.

Hours of work
The person appointed will be expected to work for a minimum of 18 hours per week. We would like to provide flexibility for the successful candidate and can offer up to 30 hours per week. On a few occasions there may be a requirement to work in the evening and at weekends. The organisation encourages a flexible working approach from all staff, consistent with meeting the needs of the business.
Pension
scottishathletics operates a qualifying group pension scheme for auto-enrolment purposes and will match the successful candidates’ contribution up to a maximum of 6% of salary, including the legal minimum contributions required.
Annual Leave and Public Holidays
The annual leave entitlement for this post is 25 days pro rata. In addition, the public holiday entitlement is 10.5 days pro rata.
Travel and Subsistence
The post holder will be required to travel to meetings within Scotland and occasionally in the UK. Travel and subsistence will be reimbursed at scottishathletics’ current rates.
Probationary Period
All new members of staff will serve a six-month probationary period before their appointment is confirmed.
Notice
This post carries a one-month period to terminate employment after the satisfactory completion of the probationary period.

Background
The Royal Scottish Forestry Society, formed in 1854, is an educational charity focussing on promoting the understanding of trees, woods and forestry. Every year RSFS puts on what we believe to be the most extensive programme of practical forestry events across Scotland.
The Society has published a semi-academic journal, Scottish Forestry, since 1858 promoting all aspects of good practice in forestry. All back issues are available to Members via our website.
The Society has a mix of individual and organisational Members. Our membership includes professional foresters and managers, woodlands owners and many others with an interest in trees and woods.
RSFS is also the parent entity of Cashel Forest Trust, a charity based near Balmaha, in East Loch Lomond.
Who we are looking for
In response to expanding the capacity of the Board and succession planning, we are seeking up to 6 new trustees. We anticipate that you can provide evidence of transferable skills at senior level, or experience of operating as a trustee or non-executive director. Applications of those with experience of the following areas will be prioritised:
- Communications, stakeholder engagement and public relations;
- Forestry at senior leadership level;
- Vocational learning, development programmes, learning in the context of CPD;
- People, HR, employment law and organisational culture;
- Business, finance or operations at senior executive level.
We would like applicants to:

- Demonstrate a willingness and ability to devote the necessary time and effort;
