Our work transforms lives, and we are looking for a Finance & Administration Officer to help us continue making an impact.

About the Role

As our Finance & Administration Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth financial and administrative operation of Avenue. Working with our unique funding streams and financial structure, you will manage bookkeeping, financial reporting, and grant oversight while supporting payroll and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process financial transactions and manage bookkeeping in Xero
  • Generate bespoke financial reports for funders, grants, and service lines
  • Support payroll administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Assist in grant reporting and financial management
  • Ensure proper documentation, compliance, and adherence to charity regulations
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure financial efficiency

About You

We are looking for a detail-oriented, organised professional with:

  • A finance, accounting, or business administration qualification
  • Experience in bookkeeping and financial management, ideally in the charity sector
  • Proficiency in Xero and strong Excel skills (intermediate-to-advanced)
  • An understanding of payroll processes and financial reporting
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Initially office-based (4-5 days a week), with potential flexibility for remote work as the role progresses.
