Clackmannanshire Third Sector Interface (CTSI) is a ‘single door’ TSI for the local authority area providing support to around 200 third sector member organisations in Clackmannanshire including charities, development trusts, community and voluntary groups, and social enterprises. CTSI is also responsible for promoting volunteering and supporting voluntary leadership.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, passion and commitment to volunteering in Clackmannanshire. The role will be leading on one of our key strands of work – with an ambitious target to increase the number of people involved in volunteering and lead on the roll out of the new CTSI Volunteer Portal.

We need someone to be a team player, work with partners, listen and support volunteering-involving organisations and get the message out there – volunteering is for everyone!

We are looking for a Pathways Coordinator at Blairgowrie High School, to work with young people, mentors and school staff involved in our programme.

About the role:

You will be an integral part of the school community and wider MCR team and be the key person delivering the MCR programme to young people in the school.

Key responsibilities:

- Helping to build exceptional individual relationships with young people across S1 to S6 and delivering S1 & S2 group work.

- Helping to drive volunteer mentor recruitment. Consistently supporting, actively engaging and motivating mentors from training through the length of their engagement with the programme.

- Actively support MCR young people to set, experience then follow their education and employment pathways.

- Evidence progression, impact and best practice with YP input, quantitative feedback and qualitative case studies.

About you:

- Exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships with young people aged 11-18 years, education colleagues, volunteer mentors and local employers.

- Awareness and understanding of the principles of safeguarding and child protection.

- Ability and confidence to present programme information & deliver prepared training sessions to groups.

- Ability to work well on own initiative, as part of a team and on a flexible basis in response to young person and organisational need.

- An understanding of the challenges and barriers that care-experienced and/or vulnerable young people may encounter.

- Experience or a knowledge of processes to document and evidence good practice and positive outcomes.

You may have experience as a Youth, Community or Advice Worker. You will be an empathetic person who is open minded, non-judgemental, resilient and who is driven to improve outcomes for care experienced and other vulnerable young people.

Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire (VANL), North Lanarkshire’s local Third Sector Interface is looking for new trustees to join its existing board. Your role as a trustee will help VANL complete its vital work in supporting local people’s wellbeing and equality by helping community and voluntary organisations of all types and sizes. We do this by providing guidance and support on issues such as volunteering, funding, strategy, governance, HR, ICT and more. We also support the sector to work better together and in partnership with local communities, the council and NHS to improve services and support, whilst hosting the flagship Community Solutions Programme.

Trustees are a vital part of this operation, advocating on behalf of VANL and the sector to local partners for the benefit of the local community and voluntary sector. You, as a trustee will help to set our strategic direction, ensure that our work matches the mission, values and goals of the organisation, manage organisational risk, and help to establish policies, procedures and practices that govern our internal and external approaches.

About You

Trustees must have a genuine interest in achievement of VANL’s charitable purposes, vision, mission, values and objectives. Trustees should also have a genuine interest in improving the effectiveness of the community and voluntary sector and volunteering in North Lanarkshire for the benefit of local people and communities, with the goal of improving people’s wellbeing and equality.

Trustees should have a good understanding or be willing to develop the following:

• the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
• effective charity governance
• leadership and management
• charity strategic overview, financial management, and people management
• knowledge and understanding of the North Lanarkshire Community and Voluntary Sector
• collaboration with and between CVS organisations and statutory bodies

About you

Are you already a trainer within Health & Social Care, or a nurse or Senior Care Worker looking to develop into the role of a trainer? If so, we are looking to recruit a trainer to join our skilled Learning and development team.

The main focus of the role is to deliver health and social care courses to staff across our services, which are all over Scotland. This role can be based at either our Glasgow, Dundee, or Kirkcaldy office, with travel required across Scotland and the option to work from home.

You will be working in partnership with experienced training colleagues and operational managers and be responsible for delivering high quality and engaging training face to face and occasionally via Microsoft Teams. In addition to delivering training, you will also be assessing competence and coaching new and existing colleagues, and be expected to help nurture and form long-term relationships with new and existing staff, supporting their continuing professional development and training. You should be able to adapt your communication and training style depending on the trainees and naturally build rapport with new people.

Some of the topics you would be required to deliver training in (but not limited to):

• Organisational induction
• Safeguarding
• Epilepsy and rescue medication
• Moving and assisting
• First Aid
• Administration of medication

Expected qualifications and experience

• Minimum SCQF 7 qualification in a care related subject or a qualification that would allow registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
• Experience in training delivering within a health or social care setting
• A minimum of 1 years’ experience within a setting that would develop a detailed knowledge of current issues affecting health and social care.
• Be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of current training and qualification requirements in relation to SSSC registration, organisational policy and procedures, National Health and Social Care Standards and the SSSC Codes of Practice.
• Extremely confident and have a good grasp of IT applications such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral are required, as well as excellent organisational skills and to be able to work on your own initiative.
• Be passionate and caring about what you do.
• Be able and willing to work flexibly in terms of locations across Scotland and times of day to accommodate staff shift
• patterns and service needs – including overnight stays and unsocial hours (evenings and weekends).
• You must have a full UK driving licence and the use of a car (business mileage is reimbursed), as travel will be frequent and include travel to services all over Scotland.

What would make you stand out?

• Hold or be working towards a learning and development qualification.
• Be qualified to support at least one of the core courses (Epilepsy, Moving and Assisting, First Aid) and be prepared to undertake additional training for trainers’ courses as required.
