We have an exciting leadership opportunity to join the Edinburgh Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Team as a Team Leader. Within this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day delivery of our mental health and wellbeing support services. As well as supporting the team, you will be responsible for having initial conversations with people looking to access support, to identify outcomes and match them with the appropriate support.

You will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of our: Guided Self Help Service, Peer Connecting Service, Women’s Wellbeing Service, Thrive Welcome Team and the Peer Community of Practice.

You should have experience in; leading and managing services, supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing, managing volunteers, and working as part of a team. We are also seeking candidates who have a knowledge or understanding of peer work.

ScotWays (The Scottish Rights of Way & Access Society) is looking for an Access Officer to join our small team answering enquiries about Rights of Way and other access issues from professionals and the general public. We're looking for someone who has sound IT skills, loves maps, managing data, carrying out research, finding solutions to queries and providing great customer service. Flexibility, the ability to work on own initiative and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.

Interest in the outdoors and basic knowledge and understanding of the law relating to public access in Scotland is desirable.

Ecas is looking for a part-time (17.5 hours per week) Befriending Assistant to join our small office team. The successful candidate will assist the Befriending Manager to develop and deliver the Befriending Service for adults with a physical disability living in Edinburgh.

About us

Ecas is an Edinburgh based charity and was established over a hundred years ago. The charity works to improve the quality of life of physically disabled people in the Edinburgh and Lothians area: promoting equality, choice and participation through our activities, befriending service and grants.

The Befriending Service commenced in October 2007 and has a well-established number of ‘matches’. The service has a different approach to the more traditional schemes and started in response to the increasing number of people with physical disabilities becoming isolated and lonely. Isolated people with a physical disability may be in their own homes, in assisted housing, in accommodation provided by a housing association or even in residential homes.

Ecas has approached the befriending service in two connected ways:

• by recruiting, training and vetting volunteers to meet befriendees in person.
• by facilitating visits between isolated physically disabled people who are already friends or family and who would otherwise find it difficult to meet.

The Befriending Assistant will, in support of the Befriending Manager, work with other organisations to recruit both volunteers and those who need the service. To provide a manageable geographic area the service operates only in Edinburgh, but with the flexibility to involve volunteers and clients from out with that area in exceptional circumstances.

We are looking for a solution-focused Admin & Finance Assistant to join a small, friendly team who believe in the power of volunteering and active citizenship. Based in our main office, this Admin & Finance role is varied and busy. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with numbers and Excel, and will pick up new systems and processes with ease.

The role

Around half of the role involves administration and office tasks, essential to the smooth running of the organisation. You’ll be assisting with HR administration, managing the facilities, equipment and supplies, and assisting colleagues and volunteers.

Although the other half of the role is finance-based, you don’t necessarily need prior accounting experience. If you find it satisfying to work methodically and with attention to detail, you’ll be perfectly suited to this. You’ll look after our financial records in Xero, a user-friendly, online accounting system.

This role is part-time and we are open to between 21 and 28 hours per week – to be agreed with the successful candidate. The hours may be worked over three, four or five days, Monday to Friday.

About you

As well as being able to manage a busy workload with competing priorities, the ideal candidate will be comfortable learning and working with systems and processes, and adapting them to improve efficiency. You’ll be highly numerate as well as confident and experienced in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. While experience of basic financial administration or bookkeeping would be beneficial, you can learn this on the job. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you’ll be working with colleagues and volunteers in a busy office.
