Inverclyde Women’s Aid is a charitable organisation dedicated to working towards ending domestic and sexual abuse. We offer a confidential service across Inverclyde to support women, children and young people who are or have experienced domestic and /or sexual abuse.

Are you passionate about helping women, children and young people in Inverclyde? Inverclyde Women’s Aid [IWA] are looking for Trustees to join its Board.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our feminist governance team supporting and overseeing the development of the organisation to ensure the continued delivery of high quality, responsive services to vulnerable women, children and young people in our area. You do not need to know everything there is to know about domestic and or sexual abuse, but you will need to prove that you are interested in our work, be reliable, action focussed and committed to our principles and values.

We are keen to here from women, and in particular those who may have experience or skills in the areas of Fundraising, HR, IT, legal, women services or care and charity governance.

We are looking for a Law Director!

DIWC is looking for a Law Director to come and join us on our Board of Directors.

If you have experience and knowledge of the Scottish legal system, or charity law, we want to hear from you.

Along with experience in law we are keen to hear from women who are passionate about equality, want to break down barriers to social, economic and political engagement, and would like the opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of DIWC.

About Dundee International Women’s Centre (DIWC)

The Centre has been supporting isolated and disadvantaged women, particularly those from Black and Minority Ethnic communities, since 1969. We hold groups promoting health and social wellbeing, skills-based classes, English classes, SQA training and Employability classes, as well as running a social enterprise childcare service.

Time Commitment

The time commitment for this role can be up to 8 hours per month. This consists of attending Board Meetings on the first Monday of each month which usually last 2 hours in the early evening. These meetings alternate between in person in the centre and online on TEAMS. Board sub-committee meetings also take place outside of monthly board meetings, and are less frequent.

In addition to attending meetings, time would be required to read and study all papers and reports in advance of meetings along with attending an annual AGM.

Job Purpose: Edinburgh Women’s Aid (EWA) is looking for a Community Refuges Support Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide safe and secure refuge accommodation for women and children who are at risk of domestic abuse.

EWA will fund access to an SVQ Social Services and Healthcare qualification at SCQF level 6.

Fife Women’s Aid are looking to recruit a full-time support worker to join our Women’s Support Team.

As a service, we are expanding our capacity to better meet the needs of women who have experienced domestic abuse. Candidates should have good communication skills and a passion for supporting recovery from domestic abuse.

The successful applicants will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in health and social care or other relevant subject, or a willingness to work towards a qualification.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of motivation and have the ability to work on their own as well as part of a team. An ability to cover on-call is an advantage (additional payments are made for this role).
