Rooted in Christian values, KYTHE’s programmes include universal, targeted, and 1:1 services designed to meet the diverse needs of young people in Kinross-shire. As Head of Youth Work, you will play a vital role in sustaining and growing these impactful services.
The Role
The Head of Youth Work is a pivotal leadership position with overall responsibility for KYTHE’s youth work provision. You will shape and lead KYTHE’s programmes, manage youth work staff and build meaningful partnerships with key stakeholders.
This role offers the opportunity to:
- Develop and deliver a dynamic youth programme that positively impacts young people in Kinross-shire.
- Represent KYTHE at a senior level, building partnerships with schools, churches, funders, and local authorities to enhance its reach and impact.
- Contribute strategically as part of KYTHE’s Core Management Team, supporting long-term planning and growth.
- Lead by example, building trust and meaningful relationships with young people.
This role has an Occupational Requirement under Part 1, Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010, requiring the post-holder to be a practising Christian.

- Leadership: A committed Christian or someone with values aligned to Christianity, demonstrating spiritual maturity and embodying KYTHE’s ethos in all aspects of your work.
- Proven Experience: A track record of managing teams, delivering impactful programmes, and achieving results in youth work or similar settings.
- Relevant Qualifications: A degree in Youth Work (or equivalent) with a solid understanding of the needs of young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, able to connect with young people, staff, and external partners while confidently representing KYTHE.
- Strategic Vision: Highly organised, self-motivated, and adept at developing and implementing long-term plans.

Awards Project Worker

LAYC is recruiting a Project Worker to support the delivery of accredited learning and youth awards, with the network of community-based youth and children’s Member Groups within Edinburgh and the Lothians.
The post will be based at LAYC and will have a Lothian wide remit.
The post will be fixed for an initial period of 2 years at 18 hours per week on a salary scale of £28,046 - £32,010 pro rata, plus access to a 7% employers contribution pension.
Physical Activity Development Worker

EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONS: prospective candidates must have, or be working towards, basic accreditation to deliver a physical activity programme – although training may be provided to suitable candidate, external agencies will be used for advanced activities.
Granton Youth took its services outside during the pandemic and its success with young people in improving their skills, mental health and wellbeing means it is now an integral part of the GY programme. GY is recruiting a youth worker with experience of delivering a physical activities programme for young people aged 11+. The successful candidate will develop and implement a physical activity programme to work with young people to coordinate and design a programme of outdoor/indoor activities, in conjunction with young people and networking with activity providers. The post holder will provide 1:1/mentoring for any young person identified as requiring additional support.
The post holder will work with team members to deliver appropriate programmes to support and motivate young people to participate in the provision - including planning, development, decision-making processes and evaluation.
ACT is one of the projects funded through the Whole Family Wellbeing Fund, money provided to local authorities from the Scottish Government.
Role of the service:
The primary goal of ACT is to disrupt patterns of concern (antisocial behaviour and /or exploitation), enhancing the existing Early and Effective Intervention provision.
The service will accept referrals from young people, parent/carers, education, C&F Duty Social Work, Community Safety Partnership, and the 3rd Sector.
Job Purpose:
The post holder will work as part of a small multi agency team including staff from Youth Justice, Youth Action Project, and Action for Children.
The part time worker will deliver 1-1 interventions for a 3-to-6-month period, supporting young people from coming into conflict with the law, to prevent involvement in criminality and reduce risk of harm or exploitation.
Worker will provide information and strategies to manage conflict, improvement of family and peer relationships. Support to access education/training and employment, advice on substance misuse, health, and ways to manage leisure time more effectively will also be provided.
Development of group work programmes where appropriate and inclusion of contextual safeguarding workshops.
Accountable to: WLYAP Project Director and Team Manager / Assess and Connect Team.
