An opportunity has arisen for an IT manager to join our enthusiastic and dedicated IT team focused on providing excellent IT services to Children First. The role involves the management of IT infrastructure, systems and hardware, overseeing the work of the IT technical team.
Based in Edinburgh, with some home working and visits to sites across Scotland, the successful candidate will bring significant experience of managing cloud hosted IT services. Demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure and Intune, the post holder will be highly motivated with robust problem solving and analytical skills.
The role will involve collaborating with colleagues across the organisation, taking the time to build relationships and understand the needs of the organisation.

Couthie House provides long-term residential care and support to children who are unable to live within their family home. The service offers a stable, secure, and nurturing environment with a strong focus on individual needs and developing life skills. These life skills empower each young person to make meaningful choices, develop, grow up, and become resilient.
Our Team Leader Residential plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality of care and support for children who are unable to live within their family homes. With a compassionate and dedicated approach, the Team Leader oversees the day-to-day operations of our residential care service, fostering a stable, secure, and nurturing environment.
You'll lead, encourage, inspire and motivate a team of up to 14 staff and will work closely with the Registered Manager. With a strong background in managing complex learning disabilities and challenging behaviours, this role exemplifies dedication, insight, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by the children in our care. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed senior Residential Project Worker 3 to join our Pentland Way Residential Service.
Barnardo's Caern Disability Services consists of three unique Projects who deliver a variety of quality services for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism. We have done this for over 40 years.
Our Pentland Way Service is a residential service providing support for up to three older young people. Using a person-centred approach, we aspire to create an environment in which the young people are happy, nurtured and safe. We aim to enhance their lives by supporting them to develop independence in both the domestic environment and the community.
About You:
Ideally you will have experience in working directly with children and young people in a residential setting. Experience in supporting children and young people with a learning disability and/or Autism is required.
You will work directly with the children and young people on shift, as part of the staff team on rota. In addition to this your main role will include
The staff team across Caern Services must be fully accepting of our children and be prepared to offer them a professional relationship based on acceptance and informed by our understanding of their individual needs, wishes and experiences. We are passionate about the children and young people that we care for, showing understanding, empathy and consistency in our approach.
You will currently hold or be working towards a SVQ3 (Children and Young People) and also be willing to work towards a recognised SSSC qualification/s relevant to this role (Residential Worker with Supervisory Responsibilities).
This is a full-time position (37 hours). Working on a dayshift rota basis, you will typically work a rota of 5 out of 7 days, including weekends. You will require to be flexible for the needs of the Young People and the Service.

About The Job
As CEO, you will lead Kindred in achieving its mission of supporting families of children with complex needs. You will manage the implementation of the Strategic Plan and drive growth by enhancing the charity’s visibility while maximising the impact of our work. As an organisation we are evolving and you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Kindred. You will work closely with the Senior Management Team and maintain an expert knowledge of issues relevant to our service users (including statutory provision, benefits, charitable funding and other support available through the voluntary sector).

You will work closely with our Board of Trustees to develop and implement strategic plans, build strong partnerships, and secure sustainable funding. Main Areas of Responsibility
People Management: Work with the Senior Management Team to ensure effective management of Kindred’s staff team including liaising with external HR support. Develop Kindred’s team to support the delivery of Kindred’s services and strategic plan.
Fundraising: Lead on a competitive and responsive fundraising strategy, supported by our fundraising team.
Governance: Support Kindred’s Chair and trustees in providing strategic leadership and governance. Ensure Kindred’s governance processes are robust and effective.
Finance: Ensure Kindred’s finances are managed to a high standard with timely reporting.
Kindred Services: Ensure operations are supported to enable the delivery of high-quality services to our service users in line with our objectives.
Administration: Enable the smooth running of our organisation including leading on the development of online systems.
