Positive Help is a well-established, third sector service provider – a registered charity – based in central Edinburgh. We have almost 40 years’ experience of supporting adults, children and families living with /affected by HIV and or Hepatitis.

With the support of a cohort of trained and supervised volunteers, we provide a range of services to help people who have complex needs live fulfilling, healthy lives in the community.

We are now looking for an Adult Services Manager with proven experience of working in a leadership role to join our dedicated team as we further develop the organisation. We work from our centrally situated office in Edinburgh, although there is the option to work from home depending on business need.

The ideal candidate will have the skills and experience we need to help us deliver our adult services – specifically Supportive Transport, and Live Well Services - and the wider organisation effectively and efficiently, and have a genuine interest in this very rewarding work.

As a member of our leadership team, you will play a key role in ensuring that service users receive the right support from us and others timeously, and that volunteers are appropriately matched and well supported / supervised to maintain a high standard of practice and satisfaction.

You will be outcome focussed and have a keen interest in demonstrating the impact of services as well as working across boundaries and developing and sustaining positive relationships with internal colleagues, volunteers, partner agencies, referrers and a wide range of stakeholders.

You will have experience of managing or coordinating projects inspiring people to work together towards shared goals. You will be a problem-solver with an empathic approach, and excellent communication skills.

The Ayrshire Hospice is finishing our “once in a lifetime” Capital Build project, which will ensure that we are prepared to meet the needs of our community to provide palliative and end of life care for future generations. Everything we do is about making today matter and our patients and family's voices are at the heart of all we do.

Upon the much-anticipated move back “home”, we are looking for someone to help support the smooth running of this exceptional and technical building as well as our entire estate. You will be expected to liaise with all departments across our organisation to anticipate any challenges and opportunities. Problem solving is key to this role, with our support, you’ll be well versed in the inner workings of the building, correcting commons faults, or being able to escalate to the appropriate team members.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Facilities and Property Management, you will support the day to day smooth running of our Hospice buildings.

Through regular checks you’ll ensure that all fire, health & safety, and security requirements are maintained, always to the highest standards. The Ayrshire Hospice is therefore seeking an individual to fill the position of Technical Support Supervisor, who, working with the Head of Facilities and Property Management and the facilities team, will enable this to happen.

The Technical Support Supervisor will report directly to the Head of Facilities & Property Management and will assist in the delivery of a responsive and effective facilities management service.

The individual will have a good knowledge of facilities management, preferably in a health care setting, and will have experience of conducting general repairs. They will also have the skills necessary to diagnose and co-ordinate the corrective actions required on all aspects of; mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) systems to ensure optimal operating results.

The successful candidate will support the planning and implementation of the organisation’s policies and procedures, including the day-to-day operations of the facilities portfolio. The successful candidates will manage facilities staff duties, liaising with contractors, hospice staff and volunteers, ensuring that health and safety policies and procedures are followed.

As a member of the Hospice team, you will be working in a clinical end of life care environment always putting the patients' needs first, despite conflicting priorities.

About you

Do you want to use your skills to make a real difference to the myeloma community?

We’re looking for a professional to join our Finance team on a part time basis. If you have experience of using an accounting system and knowledge of charity specific accounting requirements, this role may be for you. You will need to have excellent IT skills in a financial environment, including being highly proficient in the use of excel, excellent numeracy skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and a high level of written and verbal communication skills. You will need the ability to work as part of a team and to build relationships working in partnership with both internal and external stakeholders.

Experience of Xledger cloud accounting software and Raiser’s Edge CRM software as well as accounting qualification to AAT or equivalent is desirable but not essential.

About the role

This is an exciting time to join Myeloma UK as we launch our new five year strategy. The Finance Assistant role is varied and encompasses many aspects of the Finance Department work. You will be responsible for processing of income and expenditure and assist other colleagues with compliance with controls and procedures.

The role includes processing of of all expenditure and payments to the finance system, matching purchase orders, ensuring correct coding and authorisation procedures as well assisting in processing all income streams to Raisers Edge and the finance system..

The post holder will be assisting with the day to day activities of the finance function ensuring financial transactions are efficiently and accurately recorded, thus enabling the Finance Department to provide a first class finance service to our stakeholders.
