We have an opportunity to work within our Pitkerro Court Outreach Service supporting adults with a variety of additional support needs such as mental health issues, learning disability, autism, ADHD and alcohol issues

The Role

As a support worker you will:

  • Be helping people with all aspects of daily life ,including personal care (which may include intimate personal care).
  • Support with all aspects of medication.
  • Support with cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping.
  • Some of the people we support need assistance and guidance with emotional, behavioural and personal safety support.
  • Emotional support and support with recovery process
  • Promotion of positive mental health and developing constructive coping strategies
  • Social support including accessing community based resources and planning for leisure so that life is interesting and enjoyable
  • Exploring opportunities for meaningful employment

In this role you have the brilliant opportunity to give new experiences to the people you are supporting.

You should

  • Be cheerful, caring and reliable. You will smile a lot, be able to chat about a wide range of topics and be able to make a positive difference to someone’s day.
  • You should have a good sense of humor.
  • Have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Work as a part of a team and be required to carry out sleepover and waking night shifts.
  • Undertake a key working role that includes administrative tasks and IT skills
  • Be able to show transferrable skills relating to care
  • Hold an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care, or have the willingness undertake study to achieve this
  • You will be required to obtain registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post.
