Heart of Scotstoun Community Centre is a charity owned by the people of Scotstoun in the north bank of the River Clyde in the west of Glasgow.

Welcoming more than 1000 visitors per week, our aim is to provide a vibrant community space that offers engaging activities and facilities for all parts of the community.

We provide a range of services and affordable welcoming spaces, as well as opportunities to grow, eat and access healthy food via our in-house cafe.

We require an enthusiastic and motivated leader to be responsible for managing all aspects of Heart of Scotstoun Community Centre and to work pro-actively with our Non-Executive Board during this new and exciting stage of our development.

Myeloma UK is the only UK charity focused on myeloma and its related conditions. We ensure people affected by myeloma get the support, information and treatments they need and fund essential research towards a cure. We are here for people affected by myeloma, for healthcare professionals and researchers – and anyone who wants to be part of the cure, to make sure no-one faces myeloma alone because together we are the cure.

It is an exciting time to be joining Myeloma UK having recently launched our new strategy. We have the ambition to double our income over the next five years, allowing us to significantly increase both our reach and impact so that those affected by myeloma can live longer and have better quality lives.

To support our vision for a world where myeloma doesn’t exist, and due to an impending retirement, we are looking to recruit into the business critical role of Director of Finance. With accountability for the financial stewardship of the charity, encompassing effective financial control and reporting, you will also play a major role in shaping the strategic development and future direction of Myeloma UK, working with colleagues at the cutting edge of myeloma research, advocacy, and support. As a member of an experienced Executive Leadership team, you will work collaboratively to develop Myeloma UK’s strategies, goals, priorities and outcomes and report progress to Board.

The role requires a qualified accountant who is an inspiring and solutions-focused leader, able to demonstrate relevant experience of having supported the ongoing development and strategic growth of an organisation, either within the voluntary or private sector. The successful candidate will also bring well-developed business/commercial skills and the ability to get “behind the numbers” and carry out complex numerical and financial calculations and analysis to allow well-informed commercial decisions.

Every year, our health and wellbeing team supports 1000s of people across Scotland, and our Supported Living teams work alongside just under 100 people in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife. They promote citizenship and inclusion and support people to live in their own homes, in their local community.

This new post will form part of the management team and work closely with the Chief Executive and Director of Resources to plan and deliver the Thistle Strategy.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Providing leadership, strategic direction and overall accountability for person-centred activities and a strength-based approach, ensuring continuous improvement and delivery against quality standards.

- Ensuring managers are accountable for their own and their teams’ objectives

- Representing Thistle with a range of stakeholders internally and externally and key contact for contracting organisations.

- Overseeing operational management targets particularly in relation to statutory compliance

You should have both operational and strategic management experience within the health and/or social care sector and professionally qualified to SCQF level 10 or above in a relevant health/ social care qualification and hold appropriate leadership and management qualifications or demonstrate equivalent learning.

Appeal Director – Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS)

As Appeal Director, you will play a vital role in our most ambitious appeal yet—driving the six- and seven- figure gifts needed for us to achieve our ambitions in the “It’s Not Just a Hospice Appeal”, to secure critical funding to transform Rachel House children’s hospice, and critically, transform the experience of children’s palliative care in Scotland.

In this high-impact role, you will work with an exceptional team to engage philanthropic partners, cultivate major gifts, and deliver on our ambitious vision. From shaping donor strategies to creating lasting, meaningful partnerships, you’ll play a central part in CHAS’s goal of raising £16.3 million to reimagine Rachel House and grow CHAS’s long-term impact.

• Demonstrated success in securing six- and seven-figure gifts.

• Expertise in building lasting, meaningful relationships with high-level donors and partners.

• Proven ability to meet ambitious goals through strategic planning and effective

• The ability to engage, inspire, and articulate compelling cases for support.

• An alignment with CHAS’ vision and values, and a deep commitment to making a difference for children and families.

• Experience in either the nonprofit or commercial sector, with a willingness to navigate complex projects and stakeholders.
