KO-NEKT provides 1:1 support within the community for children and young people (aged 5-25) with Additional Support Needs (ASN). We fully support the integration and independence of our service users by championing their rights and helping them be the best they can be. Based in our Coatbridge office, you will oversee a team of ASN Support Practitioners and manage a significant caseload of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of ASN Support Practitioners
• Prepare monthly staff rotas, ensuring optimal coverage that meets the needs of service users
• Oversee the delivery of services to children and young people with ASN
• Ensure all service user information (eg, support plans, reviews and outcomes) are accurately entered and regularly updated in our bespoke online system
• Maintain high standards of data integrity and confidentiality
• Build and maintain strong relationships with your team, colleagues, families, social care and all key stakeholders
• Ensure that services meet regulatory standards and continue to improve in quality
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of the Self-Directed Support Act and apply its principles
• Support the business strategy locally and promote the growth of KO-NEKT's services in North Lanarkshire

About You:

• Considerable experience in Social Care, ideally with a background in social work and/or in a senior position within ASN/ASD/Disability service.
• Proven experience with Care Inspectorate values and requirements
• Proven experience in managing teams and driving culture change
• Strong commitment to inclusion for children and young people with ASN
• SSSC Care at Home registered (or willingness to register)
• Excellent communication and partnership-building skills
• Proficient in the use of IT such as Microsoft Office and databases to support daily operations
• Ability to lead strategically at a local level, supporting service expansion
• Full driving license and access to your own vehicle for business use

Barnardo's Lanarkshire Locality has a number of services which provides both generic and bespoke help to some of the most vulnerable children, young people, and families.

In partnership with Scottish Families Affected by Drugs and Alcohol (Scottish Families), we are promoting the Grow Your Own Routes service across North Lanarkshire. This service is funded by the cross-government Whole Family Wellbeing Fund, led by Scottish Families with the support of the Scottish Government's Drugs Policy Division. As part of its growth the service is being rolled out across several local authorities in Scotland. As a delivery partner for Scottish Families, Barnardo's provides this service, within North Lanarkshire.

The service known as North Lanarkshire Routes, provides bespoke support to children and young people aged 12 – 26 years who have been impacted by someone else's drugs and or alcohol use. The service will operate from our Motherwell office but will support children and young people across North Lanarkshire.

The delivery approach focuses on providing a range of tailored interventions through practical support, youth work and evidence-based approaches including but not exclusive to Solihull, Lets introduce Anxiety Management (LIAM) and Mental/emotional health interventions.

We are advertising for a 37-hour Project worker 2 to join our team however applications are welcome from those seeking part time hours. If successful, your role will be to provide support through 1:1 and group activities to children and young people affected by drugs and alcohol. As part of a team, you will work with young people in identifying support needs and gaps, and developing plans to meet these needs.

A strong understanding of the legislation impacting children and young people is required as well as a good working knowledge of wider and local strategies in place to reduce wider drug and alcohol related harms.

The role will involve evening and weekend work. This post covers a large geographical area and therefore a full driving licence with access to a car for the purposes of work is required.

About Bridges Partnership- Glasgow

The Bridges Partnership is jointly provided by Aberlour Glasgow Family Support Service and Shelter Scotland to provide support to mothers and their children living in the North East of Glasgow areas who are or have been affected by domestic abuse.

What we are looking for....

We are looking for three Child and Family Worker to join our team, working 37.5 hours per week. As this post includes an unsocial hour’s allowance, you are required to be flexible with your approach and available to work weekends, evenings and public holiday to meet the needs of the families you would support. This post is funded until 31st March 2025, however we are actively seeking further funding to extend this further.

As a Child and Family Worker within our Bridges Partnership project you will;

• Undertake risk assessment and work to develop safety plans
• Advocate in statutory meetings, court settings and with other agencies on behalf of women and children who have or are experiencing domestic abuse.
• Using the safe and together model, you will develop reports to be used in courts in relation to civil and criminal proceedings.
• Work in partnership with the parents, either on a 1:1 basis or in groups to enhance their parenting skills and build their confidence
• Work with children and parents in a therapeutic and trauma-based approach to help them reach their full potential.
• Provide housing information and assistance
• Inform women and children of their rights
• Signposting and helping each mother to access additional services as needed.

You will have relevant experience and a sound knowledge of domestic abuse and the impact on the children and adult survivor and relevant theory in attachment and parenting. You should be able to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to women and children’s rights. You will hold a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above. It is desired that you are IDDA trained or are willing to work towards this.
