Role

About Us

New Directions West Lothian is an independent charity and social care provider based in West Lothian. We have an excellent reputation for the quality of our care and support.

New Directions West Lothian is looking to recruit new members to join our Board of Trustees during this exciting and challenging time. For one of the roles, we are particularly interested in hearing from someone with financial experience who is willing to work with the Board to oversee the charity's financial health.

Trustees are responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring its long-term sustainability and play a vital role in upholding good governance and in ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

Joining our Board is an enriching experience and even if you have not had prior experience on a Board we are interested in hearing from you.

The Board meets ten times per year, and meetings are normally held in the early evening as virtual meetings. In addition, you will be expected to attend an Annual General Meeting and an Annual Away Day. Board members serve on a voluntary basis.

We would love to hear from you if you have a passion for supporting the provision of quality care and support and a desire to make a difference and we are happy to have an informal chat about the role.

What do you get out of being a Trustee?

Being a Trustee is a great way to ‘give something back’ while developing your skills in influencing, debating and negotiating and in strategic and organisational planning. You will have the opportunity to meet, network and learn from people who may have very different professional backgrounds and life experiences to your own.

New Directions West Lothian strives to be an inclusive recruiter, and values working with people who are representative of the Organisation’s diverse community.
