The Role:

We are seeking a Philanthropy Manager within our Partnerships and Philanthropy Team, aligned to Major Gifts and Trusts.

The Philanthropy team are moving through a period of change and growth which will set this team up to strategically focus their resources and skill where it is most needed, to attract, cultivate and retain strategic philanthropic income.

Reporting to the Senior Philanthropy and Trusts Manager you will be instrumental in the recruitment and stewardship of high-level supporters who will help us expand our networks and further our fundraising propositions.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have skill and experience in the following areas:

• Experience of relationship fundraising, building and sustaining successful relationships
• Experience of managing income and expenditure budgets effectively
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with the philanthropic sector and expertise in fundraising strategies.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written skills with great attention to detail, and an ability to adapt your style according to the audience.
• Managing a diverse workload with multiple deadlines, deliverables and stakeholders.

The Trust

Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust is a local charity helping cancer patients from all over Lanarkshire by giving them free transport to and from their much-needed hospital and clinic cancer treatments. Our service, which has been running for more than 30 years, is delivered by more than 100 Volunteer Drivers who give their vehicle and time free-of-charge, and we in turn repay them their motoring expenses at a rate of 45p per mile.

The Role

The Fundraiser will play a key role in developing and maintaining relationships with our supporters. We are looking for someone with great people skills, as well as drive, initiative, and determination. You will be diligent and accurate, as well as having a dynamic approach to your work. You will be a natural problem-solver, always looking to improve upon current processes to ensure efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with, and develop, fundraising events, campaigns and initiatives to engage the Lanarkshire Community and raise awareness of our service.
• Take responsibility to maintain and expand our collection can base, which is currently available in over 200 businesses throughout Lanarkshire.
• Create fundraising materials, including grant proposals.
• Work with other experienced staff members on project funding initiatives.
• Attend networking events to promote our service and fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Drivers Licence and own vehicle is essential
• You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Income Generation and Engagement Team as an Assistant Community Fundraiser!

As an Assistant Community Fundraiser, you will play an integral part in supporting the Community Fundraising team to reach their annual income target. You will oversee the running of the Edinburgh fundraising office, including stock management and managing a small team of volunteers. You will help support the team by co-ordinating supporter and volunteer communications, and attend fundraising events when required.

About You

• Experience in an office or customer facing environment

• Ability to work independently within the role, under your own initiative and cooperatively as part of the Community fundraising team.

• Excellent administration skills with a sound working knowledge of CRM databases, Windows-based software, including Word, Excel and Outlook and Teams.

• Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with experience of managing multiple projects at any given time, prioritising and meeting agreed deadlines.

• Ability to vary communication style (both written and verbal) to reflect the needs of the audience.

• Excellent attention to detail

• Knowledge and demonstrable experience of adhering to data handling/GDPR laws and codes of conduct

This role will be based in the Edinburgh office 4 days per week, Monday -Thursday, with flexibility on a Friday. There will be some travel to other CHAS sites required for meetings and for picking up / dropping off materials with supporters.
