You may have thought that leprosy is an ancient Biblical disease, but today someone is diagnosed with leprosy every two minutes. It is a disease of poverty, striking the most vulnerable. Stigma and discrimination mean many people with leprosy hide their symptoms for as long as possible, living in terrible fear of what will happen to them. But without fast treatment, leprosy can cause blindness and disable hands and feet.

Rejection, isolation, hopelessness. We believe that this is not how God wants people to live. Will you join us to help end leprosy?

The Leprosy Mission (TLM) is the world’s largest leprosy-focused organisation, a pioneer in our field, with over 150 years’ experience serving people affected by this disease. We are a leading international development charity, working in nine countries across Africa and Asia. We are Christ-centered, following His leading to defeat leprosy and transform lives.

We are looking for an inspirational leader to develop and deliver fundraising plans in Scotland, and to provide excellent care for faithful Scottish supporters. You’ll be working from home, with extensive travel across Scotland.

You’ll be part of a supportive fundraising management team based in Peterborough. We have a culture of growing and learning together, providing extensive training in fundraising and international development. You’ll also have opportunities to visit projects overseas and see your work first hand.

We’re looking for:

• A relational public speaker, experienced in engaging audiences including churches, community groups and businesses

• Proven success in fundraising

• A confident networker

• Experience of managing volunteers

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Willingness to work on Sundays and evenings as required, and occasional Saturdays

• The ability to develop and deliver a fundraising strategy.

Changeworks, Scotland's leading environmental charity is looking for a Senior Data Protection Advisor to help ensure that we safeguard data through excellent governance and practice, remaining compliant as we tackle the climate emergency.

Changeworks works with a range of government organisations, local authorities, housing associations, funders, partners, and suppliers to help deliver energy advice, reduce fuel poverty and to decarbonise homes in Scotland. We recognise and value the importance of effective governance and advocate a ‘data protection by design and default’ approach which builds good practice into the services and projects we deliver.

As Changeworks’ Senior Data Protection Advisor you will be a trusted source of knowledge, guidance and information on data protection matters. You will support and work with our customer-facing advice, consultancy and project delivery services, as well as internal teams including Finance, HR, ICT and Marketing & Communications.

You will use your excellent knowledge of UK General Data Protection Regulations, Data Protection Act (2018) and privacy legislation to prioritise and respond to Data Protection Helpdesk requests in a timely, accurate and professional manner. The role involves advising on Data Processing Impact Assessments, retention schedules, Data Sharing Agreements, privacy notices and other relevant documents. You will coordinate responses to Subject Access Request and Deletion Requests, and assist managers and colleagues with the processes for assessing and reporting breaches and near misses. The role requires you to act as a point of contact with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as necessary.

You will utilise your Microsoft SharePoint knowledge to maintain and further develop our Data Protection Hub, providing a range of helpful templates, guides, general and team-specific resources to build confidence and competence across Changeworks. This involves supporting teams and individuals with the centralisation of data protection contracts and key documents on the ‘Hub’.

Working with the Training Team, you will use your effective communication skills to ensure that impactful and appropriate data protection learning and development opportunities, guidance and resources are in place to support colleagues, teams and services.

Data Protection Practitioner Certificate training will be provided for this role.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Income Generation and Engagement Team as an Assistant Community Fundraiser!

As an Assistant Community Fundraiser, you will play an integral part in supporting the Community Fundraising team to reach their annual income target. You will oversee the running of the Edinburgh fundraising office, including stock management and managing a small team of volunteers. You will help support the team by co-ordinating supporter and volunteer communications, and attend fundraising events when required.

About You

• Experience in an office or customer facing environment

• Ability to work independently within the role, under your own initiative and cooperatively as part of the Community fundraising team.

• Excellent administration skills with a sound working knowledge of CRM databases, Windows-based software, including Word, Excel and Outlook and Teams.

• Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with experience of managing multiple projects at any given time, prioritising and meeting agreed deadlines.

• Ability to vary communication style (both written and verbal) to reflect the needs of the audience.

• Excellent attention to detail

• Knowledge and demonstrable experience of adhering to data handling/GDPR laws and codes of conduct
