The Climate and Environment Officer role supports our Environment and Climate Change Manager, helping coordinate the National Trust for Scotland’s climate change and environmental management activities, and the delivery and mainstreaming of the Trust’s environmental objectives.

The role will include data collection, analysis and performance reporting, helping develop policies and standards, sourcing advice and expertise, and supporting the development of internal networks, including our Green Champions, and the Climate and Environment Group.

We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join our operations team. The Bookkeeper has an important role in ensuring effective financial processes that support the team and contribute to the success of the organisation. The post is key in maintaining the goodwill of artists, suppliers and freelancers by paying promptly, properly managing fundraised income and supporting the bookshop and café.

We are looking for someone who has demonstrated Bookkeeping skills and experience using Xero for a business, as well as an understanding of charity finance, fund accounting, VAT and Tax.

As part of the Leadership Team, the Financial Controller will lead the finance function during the period of the Head of Finance’s maternity leave. The group of companies comprises a charity and a subsidiary trading company.

The Financial Controller reports to the Interim Director of Finance and is responsible for the Finance & Payroll Officer.

This contract will be for a fixed term of two (2) years. The role will allow for hybrid working, with a minimum of three days being office based.

The Financial Controller will be working closely with the Interim Director of Finance, the role of Financial Controller assumes responsibility for the day-to-day financial management of the organisation.

We are offering fixed term post for a Development Worker – Training to facilitate, develop and deliver Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) Safe Talk and Scottish Mental Health First Aid Training within Midlothian.

Please note candidates must have completed and maintained Training for Trainers status in these courses.

You will be part of the delivery collective responsible for implementation of Creating Hope Together – Scotland’s suicide prevention strategy and action plan.

You will be highly skilled in administration and manage related tasks including advertising, managing enquiries and waiting list, risk assessment, collecting and collating statistics and producing reports.

This role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, where the successful candidate will be required to deliver various training courses within Midlothian.

You will be key to maintaining quality within this area of service delivery. You should have experience of delivering training to a variety of groups including people experiencing mental health problems to support them to gain knowledge and understanding of suicide prevention, intervention and mental health and wellbeing. You should also have experience of developing systems and processes and sharing your learning experiences across teams.
