Role
Come lead a creative and forward-focused team, helping Carr Gomm go even further in supporting people across Scotland to live their best possible lives.
As the Operations Manager in our Business Development Team, you will be responsible for hands-on leadership and management of Carr Gomm’s communications, marketing, fundraising, contracting, and competitive tendering.
Success in this role includes:
- Effectively communicating strategic messages to target audiences, as per the strategic plan;
- Submitting competitive tender bids, and demonstrating continual post-tender learning and improvement; and
- Delivering a reliable stream of non-contract fundraised income, including through successful grant applications and enjoyable community fundraising.
What we are looking for
In our eyes, the best Operations Managers are creative, tech-savvy, results-driven, positive, and self-motivated team players.
We expect that you will have significant experience of line management, communications and marketing, social media management, various fundraising approaches, contract administration, competitive tendering and the wider social care policy landscape in Scotland. Experience within social care is beneficial, but not essential. Travel throughout Scotland is required.

Turning Point Scotland‘s Dundee service provides support to people with a variety of support needs including learning disability, physical disability, autism, mental health illness and community justice. We provide supported living services, housing support and day opportunities to promote independence and choice to individuals in order to enable them to access everyday life experiences including access to education, employment and social activities. We will also provide support with developing relationships and maintaining a home. We work in partnership with service users, their families, health teams, social work teams and advocacy.

Are you a proactive, enthusiastic person interested in working with us to deliver on our vision for social care and support in Scotland? We’re looking for someone who combines an interest in creative communications with strong administration skills to join us as our new Communications & Member Engagement Officer.
You’ll work in our Communications & Engagement team on our engagement with members, which includes overseeing our CRM. You’ll support us in developing content for our website, social media channels and publications. You’ll also field requests from media and parliamentarians, and work to ensure the smooth running of our internal and external events. The Criminal Justice Voluntary Sector Forum (CJVSF) is a collaboration of voluntary sector organisations working in criminal justice in Scotland. As a national intermediary organisation, CJVSF supports the engagement of third sector justice organisations in national policy discussions and practice developments.
CCPS is the voice of not-for-profit social care and support providers in Scotland. We are a membership organisation and our staff work collaboratively with not-for-profit providers who deliver care and support across all age ranges.
About the role
Are you a committed and enthusiastic person interested in working with us to deliver on our vision for the justice and social care and support sectors in Scotland? We’re looking for a Policy Officer to support delivery of priority policy work across both CJVSF and CCPS.
Drawing on professional policy experience, you’ll be ready to respond to national policy proposals, keep members of both organisations informed of developments, take forward new ideas and support our wider work to influence positive reform for people in the justice and social care and support sectors. Effective representation of CJVSF and CCPS members’ views, and engagement with wider staff and key external stakeholders, will be a central part of the job.
The ideal candidate will have strong social policy skills and experience, a commitment to collaboration, and a creative focus on finding solutions in a complex landscape. You do not need to be a subject specialist, but knowledge of policy areas relevant to justice and / or social care and support in Scotland will be an advantage. You will have a curious mind and a willingness to learn.
