We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Twilight Support Worker to support homeless women on their path to stability and independence.

We are now actively searching for a Twilight Support Worker to join our team at Birken Tree House in Edinburgh. We have a part-time, permanent position available at a charitable organisation that is committed to helping those in Scotland experiencing, or at risk of homelessness.

As a Twilight Support Worker, you will be working with women who may have complex health needs, including those related to homelessness, as well as individuals struggling with addiction and challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities:

• Support women with complex health needs, addiction issues, and challenging behaviours.
• Ensure a supportive and secure atmosphere overnight.
• Empower clients towards independent living.

Requirements:

• Female applicants only, due to Genuine Occupational Requirement (Schedule 9, Equality Act 2010).
• Willingness to obtain qualifications per the Scottish Social Services Council Regulatory Requirements.
• Subject to PVG and reference checks.

We are seeking to recruit a motivated and effective LGBT+ Helpline Project Assistant to support the Helpline Coordinator to deliver our national LGBT+ Helpline, contributing to the development of our ambitious vision for LGBT health, wellbeing and equality in Scotland.

The main purpose of the LGBT+ Helpline Assistant role is to support the LGBT+ Helpline Coordinator in running the Helpline. This will entail:

• supervising volunteers and sessional staff during shifts
• taking secondary calls on the Helpline while supporting volunteers
• assisting with creating and maintaining the rota
• providing direct supervision to some volunteers
• assisting with training delivery
• updating the resources database
• assisting with promotion.

The postholder must be committed to LGBT+ equality and be LGBT+ culturally aware. We require an individual with experience of providing phone-based emotional support. The postholder must be experienced in supporting volunteers and/or staff. And we require an LGBT+ Helpline Assistant who is highly organised and an excellent communicator.

We do not provide any other services other than independent advocacy, and our advocates have no close ties to family or friends of the individual. We are currently looking to recruit support workers to join our small team within Inclusion Alliance. The role involves supporting people with learning disabilities to be included in the community and lead an ordinary life. Your work would involve helping people to access educational, social, leisure and work or volunteering opportunities in the community.

No experience or formal qualifications are necessary for the role although a caring nature, positive attitude and a sense of fun are important characteristics to have. New staff will receive paid training and undertake shadow shifts with experienced staff members during induction. We want new staff to feel ready and able to work prior to working on their own for the first time.

We have various vacancies available including part time and relief/casual positions in various locations throughout Edinburgh.

• Working hours are based between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday

• We have various permanent and casual vacancies available.

• £21,239 - £21,567 per annum, pro rata based on a 35 hour working week

• Relief/ Casual pay rate- £11.67 per hour

Candidates must be caring, motivated and have excellent communication skills whilst being committed to working in a person-centred way ensuring that support is built around the supported person’s wishes and needs.
