Role

More people than ever before are living with chest, heart and stroke conditions and many experience fear, isolation, loneliness, and struggle to cope with the impact it has on their every day lives. You can be part of our mission to make sure that there is no life half lived in Scotland.

By joining Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) as our Legacy and In Memory Officer you can be the difference between people just surviving and really living.

This is an exciting role that will see you working to make a real difference to the lives of the one in five Scots living with a chest, heart or stroke condition or are living with long covid.

In this role you will be a source of specialist knowledge and expertise in legacy and in memory fundraising with a certificate in legacy administration or the willingness to gain the qualification. You will be responsible for the marketing and administration of these funds as well as the stewardship of those giving in memory of a loved one, pledging to leave a gift in their will, or expressing an interest in doing so.

The Legacy and In Memory Officer will be joining a hard-working and talented fundraising team, working closely with our Assistant Director of Fundraising as well as the wider team and organisation.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, can build excellent relationships with people internally and externally, and can manage a busy and varied workload. This is a chance for you to channel your passion for relationships to make a real impact on the health of people in Scotland.

CHSS operates a 32.5 hour week but we are willing to consider a shorter working week for the right candidate. This is a hybrid role which can be delivered from home with occasional visits to our office in Edinburgh.

CHSS employees enjoy a variety of organisational benefits including: a 32.5 hour week, Company pension scheme, generous holiday allowance, company sick pay, employee welfare support and life assurance.

In line with our commitment to safeguarding, this role is subject to a Basic Disclosure check. CHSS is committed to equality of opportunity and to providing a service which is free from unfair and unlawful discrimination. We therefore aim to ensure that no applicant, volunteer or member of staff is unfairly treated on the grounds of offending background.
