We’re looking for an experienced payroll officer who is ready to progress into a managerial role. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, providing day-to-day leadership & guidance to our payroll and financial management service teams to ensure accurate, seamless, efficient, and timely execution of our payrolls in accordance with UK laws, regulations and company policies, and drive process improvement/standardisation across payroll activity.

Our Payroll Team currently provides a comprehensive, computerised payroll service for an average of 650+ Personal Assistant Employers who are employing around 1,000+ Personal Assistants per month. The Personal Assistant Employers figures continue to increase at a steady rate. The number of PAs employed fluctuates monthly.

The Financial Management Service provides financial support of holding bank accounts in service users’ names to ensure that they can access SDS care packages. This service means that we ensure all payroll is paid on time and correctly, we also support the service user with the management of this account. The number of service users can also fluctuate however, an average of around 150-200 service user’s access this service per month.

We are currently looking for an Employment Support Officer to support an established team whose joint approach is to provide an inclusive service for carers in all aspects of Independent Living.

Ideally, you will have experience and understanding of Self-Directed Support and have current experience of managing a caseload, working one-to-one with individuals including unpaid carers and disabled people.

After initial training in the office environment, this post will be a mix of office, home and outreach based working. The post is part of a project in partnership with VOCAL (Voice of Carers Across Lothian) and will include regular meetings and close work alongside VOCAL colleagues.

You’ll work in our Communications & Engagement team on our engagement with members, which includes overseeing our CRM. You’ll support us in developing content for our website, social media channels and publications. You’ll also field requests from media and parliamentarians, and work to ensure the smooth running of our internal and external events. Alongside membership and communications support, you’ll bring your skills to covering for our Administration Team when needed.

This could be an ideal role for someone interested in taking their first step into a communications-based position, with the opportunity for creative input and further development of skills and experience. Or perhaps you want to bring your existing skills to the social care sector.

An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Deputy Manager to join the team at our Kharis Court residential service for young people experiencing homelessness in West Lothian. The project provides accommodation to young men and women 16-25 years of age in a four bed communal living setting and also within in single supported flats.

As Deputy Manager, you will be involved in the day-to-day running of the unit, providing emotional and practical support to staff as they work to support young vulnerable people to learn independent living skills.

We are looking for a candidate with:

• A proven record in leading/supervising staff with excellent communication skills.
• Experience and knowledge of the service user group and their surrounding issues.
• Experience in the use of Microsoft office tools.
• An SVQ 4 in Social Care, Promoting Independence or equivalent as listed by SSSC as appropriate for a “Supervisor in a Housing Support Service” is desirable, coupled with experience of working with vulnerable and homeless people.
