We are looking for a dedicated individual to forge strong relationships with people and services across the city of Glasgow. Using a trauma-informed approach you will work with people of all ages and from every walk of life, supporting them in making positive changes. You will work alongside Police Scotland’s POP team and attend custody suites across the city of Glasgow to identify and help those that need support and direction.

You must be a skilled communicator who has an ability to connect with people facing a challenging range of issues. A team player, you will work closely with partners across Glasgow to achieve the right outcomes for those we are supporting. Often the people you encounter will be at a low point in their lives so you must be able to show empathy and forge a connection during that ‘reachable moment’, then back it up with the ability to create strong, trusting relationships which support people to access the help they need.

The role demands regular evening weekend work, followed up with community outreach support during the week.

We are looking for individuals who have:

• Direct experience of recovery and/or mental health issues
• Past experience of the Criminal Justice System (Please note that successful candidates will have to go through Police Vetting before being authorised access to Police Scotland Custody Suites).

It would be beneficial for applicants to have a full driving licence and access to a car satisfying the appropriate insurance requirements.

FearFree is the only male and LGBT+ domestic abuse victim support service in Scotland and continues to be recognised as the only person-centred support service in Scotland available for male and LGBT+ victims of domestic abuse. This is particularly important given the steep rise in reported domestic abuse incidents over the recent years.

We are looking for candidates who have experience of working with individuals who have experienced domestic abuse. You must also have experience of working with vulnerable people from diverse backgrounds as well as an excellent understanding of the effects and issues facing those who have experienced domestic abuse. You will need to be an effective communicator, highly organised and have effective casework management skills.

You will work closely with other partners and agencies and be expected to ensure the continued development of good partnership working.

The Investigations Support Officer (ISO) provides integral administrative support to the Standards team. The Standards team consists of Investigating Officers (IOs) who report to the Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) and/or Hearings and Investigations Officer (HIO).

The Commissioner receives complaints about possible breaches of the Code of Conduct for Councillors, the Code of Conduct for MSPs and of Codes of Conduct based on the Model Code for members of public bodies. The Commissioner also deals with complaints covering regulated lobbying.

The IOs are responsible for investigating complaints to a conclusion including carriage of the related administrative duties and all contact with the complainer, respondent, local authority staff, and others involved in a given case. The ISO provides administrative support to the IOs in accomplishing these tasks.

The successful applicant will be experienced and effective case administrators, with relevant professional or regulatory backgrounds, and strong analytical skills. They will also share our values. We act ethically and with empathy; we value people.

It is desirable that the successful candidates will have a track record of working in or with the public sector, particularly with local authorities and/or other public bodies subject to ethical standards regulation.

The post is full time, pensionable and based at our offices in Edinburgh, which is currently operating flexibly to accommodate remote, hybrid or office-based working. The flexible working options are set out in our Remote Working Policy.

Please note that the ISO role requires at least 1 day of in office work per week in addition to some travel in connection with investigations-related work, attending external training or networking events, or public hearings.

Starting salary: £31,514 per annum rising to £34,066 per annum after 1 year in post (please note: the starting salary is non-negotiable)

Working hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (35 hours effective from 01 March 2026)

Leave allowance: 25 days increasing to 30 days with 11.5 public holidays

We are seeking to recruit a Public Appointments Support Officer (PASO). The main purpose of the PASO will be to deliver a range of activities supporting the Public Appointments Manager and the Public Appointments Officer. The role reports to the Public Appointments Officer.

The PASO will be expected to provide high quality administrative and communications support to the Commissioner's public appointments team, and wider office. Excellent communications skills will be required to deal with the diversity of people who contact the office, and an early and effective contribution will be necessary.

The successful applicant will be able to work independently to deliver a range of administrative support services such as:

o Inputting data onto and managing databases

o Setting up and running surveys

o Overall responsibility for our email filing system and

o Records management processes.
