About us

CASWA offers support to women and their children who have been abused by a partner or former partner in the Caithness & Sutherland area. We work closely with a range of statutory and voluntary sector organisations.

We are looking for a diverse, motivated, and enthusiastic woman who is committed to our vision to lead our board of directors.

The role

CASWA Board sets the strategic direction of the organisation and ensures that all legal and regulatory requirements are met, and best practice is promoted. As Chair of the Board, you will:

  • ensure an effective relationship between:
    • the CASWA Board of Directors and the staff/volunteers
    • the CASWA Board of Directors and the external stakeholders/community
  • act as a spokesperson and figurehead as appropriate.
  • supervise and support CASWA Manager
  • have responsibility for planning preparing and chairing the CASWA Board of Directors meetings and the AGM with others as appropriate.

In return you will receive all reasonable expenses, a comprehensive training and support programme and the knowledge that you have helped to make some women, children and young people in Caithness and Sutherland safer and more secure.
